Food Lab — Restaurant in Utena

My recent dining experience at this establishment presented a blend of positives and areas for improvement.

Compliments are due for the addition of peanut sauce to the spring rolls, elevating their taste. The pasta, rich in creaminess and seafood flavor, showcased the kitchen's skill.

However, a few disappointments emerged. The soup lacked spiciness and suffered from an overpowering lime presence. The excessive volume of music hindered conversation and the overall ambiance. The burger's patty, seemingly composed of mince meat, lacked flavor and proper cooking, contrasting with the satisfyingly textured French fries.

A noteworthy issue arose with server communication. Initially told of a substantial wait time, the food arrived swiftly, casting doubt on the establishment's transparency and dedication to a leisurely dining experience.

Food was poor, if your not Eastern European and even if you are avoid it! I ordered a simple chicken burger which boasted to be hand made, had caramelised onions, tomatoes, lettuce and their own special sauce. They smothered the burger in two sauces and melted cheese. I also asked if the burger was a fillet or minced chicken I got told fillet and got a minced processed burger in breadcrumbs; wet breadcrumbs.

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING REMOTELY ASIAN or Thai its disgusting! I might be a food snob however I can cook, the chef in this place obviously can't. Put it this way after tasting Thai noodles with chicken I had to wipe my pallet with a tissue and down my beer. I really don't see the point of adding caramelised onions to a dish if you have smothered it with sauce.

The Beef burger on the menu contained both Beef and Pork for reasons I just can't fathom not your standard piece of Bacon on...

A nice little bistro looking restaurant. I ordered the won ton soup for the starter and steak as a main. The soup was a completely new experience which I enjoyed as much as I would any other Asian dish. There isn't a lot of places in this city that does steaks. So they were my saviours as I love steak so much. I did think sceptically, which probably help me enjoy the meal as much as I did. The steak CE well presented. And the very few first bites were much loved by my taste buds. I then continued to quickly disassemble the presented meal in front of me. Over all a really nice meal....
