B13 — Restaurant in Bertrange

The place was beautiful, lots of light, plenty of space, and a top location. It was warm, it was clean, it was social. we went at a time when there were only two other tables in the cafe, but besides that our coffees were cold. they came so fast after we ordered that it was almost like they gave us the mistakes from the previous order, couldn't explain it any other way. We both ordered cappuccinos double, and I think saying that they were warm was an exaggeration. on top of that when we left, we were the only table in the place, and the waitress charged us for four coffees when we're clearly sitting at a table with only two seats! I will unfortunately put everything negative that I experienced in my initial visit to the side and we'll go again because like I said the place was beautiful and centrally located. I would love to give it a higher rating the next time around. On the other hand coffee was tasty, prices were decent, there was parking outside, and plenty of things for kids to do if they don't mind playing outside...

Excellent food, prepared in open kitchen with all the pros and cons it may have. But what I noticed is that when a burger with a knife on top dropped to the side, not only it was made right (obviously without touching the food) but the plate also was replaced. This is characteristic of the attention to excellent service. Apart from that, service was excellent and the waitresses were very helpful, although menus being only in French didn't help much. Atmosphere also excellent, contemporary style. The restaurant was not packed with tables like others and big windows along the side contributed to the brightness of the eating areas although we went on a cloudy/rainy day. Prices were on the top range but very fair to what B13 offered. Last but not least, toilets were extremely clean, with loud music for obvious reasons. I have been there several times. For coffee, lunch, quick lunch, friends and family. The location is very pleasant when the weather is good. The playground at the footsteps very handy for families. That’s where the good news end.

The service is notoriously slow. Not once practically every time.

The last time I was around I popped-up for an unforeseen lunch break. Alone. In front of me two ladies without a reservation. Admitted. I was denied a table because they were allegedly fully booked! I offered to sit on the uncomfortable tall table, obviously the same price every body else would pay. The answer was that they cannot cope with this number of customers, while the terrace was only half-full!

If you cannot cope with customers, just close the business. And if you cannot cope with one additional service, better go back to the...
