I was driving in Luxembourg city, and my navigation brought me into this way. Personally I didn't see any sign shows no vehicle allowed on this way. The restaurant's personal delivery car blocked the entire way. Waited for couple of mins, no one moved the car so I had to press the horn. A guy came out from the restaurant; gave us a bad look; did a people walking gesture to us. He came to my window side and kept telling me this is a pedestrian way and no car would be allowed. I said sorry, I didn't see a sign and I asked if he's gonna leave soon if not I can just drive back. He asked us just wait and went inside. After couple of minutes again, he came out again and kept doing gestures to us about there is a sign and no car is allowed.
I'm not sure if I drove in a wrong way or not, but if it's no car allowed, I don't think any personal car has any reason or excuse to violate the regulations to drive in, even delivery is blocking people's walking path. The other thing I'm pretty sure is if people cause any inconvenience, they should take the right action to talk and find a way to solve things but not keep blaming other people who did the same thing they did.
On the other hand, if they meant they block random cars is right, what if there is another delivery car, a bike or a group of people behind them? Should they apologize for occupying public space which belongs to this country not them first?
If the people of this restaurant deal with other people and the regulations of the country like this, no matter how they treat the customers and how the food is, I doubt it can be a...
Read moreAs a coffee aficionado, I've always had my antennae pointed at possible coffee places. This was also the case during my short stay in Luxembourg City.
By luck we walked into a small cozy alley and found Konrad Café & Bar. At first glance, not a hip, sleek coffee bar from a metropolis as you often see on Instagram these days and which many coffee bars imitate. On the contrary, the interior is cosy, full, dark, haphazardly gathered with many items,... In other words, it is a nice, pleasant and cozy place to linger.
We ordered a cappuccino. This was the way I like to drink it: round and soft, but you still managed to taste the strong taste of espresso enough. Highly recommended if you want to drink a nice coffee.
In addition to coffee, there was also an extensive menu of other drinks (beer, cocktails, juices) and breakfast, lunch, cakes, etc.
As the staff was very friendly as well, I can...
Read moreKonrad, located on Rue du Nord, remains a wonderful spot for a relaxed evening out. The café-bar exudes a cosy and warm atmosphere, perfect for catching up with friends or simply enjoying a quiet drink. There’s a great selection of beers on offer, catering to various tastes, which is always a plus!
The staff at the bar are friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. However, one small downside is the lack of savoury snacks later in the evening, which would be a nice addition to complement the drinks.
One of the things I particularly appreciate about Konrad is their forward-thinking policy on smoking. They introduced a no-smoking rule before it was even required by law in Luxembourg, which, in my opinion, makes the place even more appealing and earns them extra points!
Overall, Konrad continues to be a top choice for a cosy night out...
