We recently celebrated a birthday supper for our amazing restaurant manager, Tracy, at KAWD Ampang, and it was such a fantastic experience that I just had to leave a review. Everything—from the food to the service to the overall ambiance—was absolutely spot on. From the moment we walked in, the team at KAWD made us feel genuinely welcome. They were friendly, accommodating, and incredibly attentive throughout the night. They even joined in to make Tracy feel extra special, helping us with the birthday cake and ensuring everything ran smoothly without a hitch. The food was nothing short of amazing. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu to share, and every single one was delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, the portions generous, and the presentation thoughtful. Some of our favorites included the Grilled Lamb Chops, Chicken Carbonara, and their signature platters—all perfectly cooked and seasoned. And let’s not forget the drinks—cool, refreshing, and beautifully served. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in their craft. Every dish came out fresh and piping hot, and the ingredients were clearly high-quality. It’s one of those rare places where you can tell a lot of heart goes into the food. The atmosphere was perfect for a celebration—cozy yet lively, with a nice balance between casual comfort and a special night-out vibe. The music wasn’t overpowering, so we could actually enjoy conversation, laughter, and good company without shouting over background noise. But what truly made the night memorable was the service. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, quick to respond to our requests, and always friendly. It was clear they genuinely cared about our experience. It felt like they were part of the celebration, not just working in the background—which is rare and very much appreciated.

Awesome foods. The best lamb shank in my life. Succulent, gamy, with tasty gravy and perfect mashed potato. My wife had striploin steak, quite great actually but i believe if it was cooked abit lighter, the taste would be better. Oh yeah and the blackpepper sauce is superb. So..the negative parts..1st is the parking space (should take uber next time), and 2nd is the waiters' services. We arrived and stood in front of the restaurant but nobody bother to ask us to sit nearly half an hour. I saw some of the staffs actually noticed our presence, but they simply just continue with whatever task they're currently doing. I understand the restaurant is bustling & busy; for now; but this kind of attitude might drive away your customers one day. So please teach some manners to your staffs, and put a dedicated waiter to sit your customers.

I gave this place a chance and I really wanted to like it, i really did. But on the 22nd of February, I had a horrible experience here. We ordered at 8.30 pm, where there was still not many customers at the time, there were maybe 4 other tables occupied and already had their food served at the time of order. There was this waitress that took our order, I tried my best to smile and be friendly when ordering with her, but all I got in return was a smug and condescending attitude, which all my friends noticed as well. Come 9pm, customers coming in and out, the place is starting to get packed. We ordered a bunch of burgers, of which 2 of them are beef burgers and 1 lamb burger. The order was verified by the waitress before getting sent to the kitchen. So until 9pm, only one beef burger had been served, and my friend had already finished it by 9pm. I am seeing burgers of every kind coming out from the kitchen and going to other tables. But the lamb and the other beef burger had not been served yet. Repeatedly I asked the waiters and waitresses where our order was, to which they all gave the same answer "sedang buat". I doubt if they actually checked with the kitchen. Only until 9.30pm, a whole hour after our order, only the burgers have come out. The burgers were served by that same waitress that took our orders. Since our food were already late and we had been starving, she showed no remorse at all. Not even a single "sorry for the wait" or anything. She served our burgers with a disgusting attitude as if we have wronged her. I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. I do hope that we are not getting served with a different attitude because we are of different ethnicity from the majority of the crowd. Meanwhile, I see other tables having no problems with their orders. I hope this does not happen to anyone else.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO!!!!! Avoid this place by any chance! They tried to provide ambiance space but the service is ridiculously the worst ever. Feefeling hipster tapi customer service kelaut. Ordered steak and was waiting for almost 1 hour!! All our food arrived but steak never arrived. At 30 minutes interval, we decided to get the some waiter boys to check the order. He went back to the kitchen and said the order was still there and there was kitchen jam log. No explanation on what could be or rather estimation how much longer it took, all our other food were all finished. At 40 minutes mark, called the same waiter boy and get him to check our order but he never came back to us. At 50 minutes mark, I went to the counter and asked where was our order!! The manager went to kitchen and said the order is already gone! I asked what do you mean its gone? He said it means its its already been out from kitchen to the table! And i said but we never got the food how come the food gone missing??!! We were waiting for almost 1 hour and no communication on estimation time etc. and he just said ‘so do you want to repeat order or order something else?’ No sorry or apologise they misplaced our order and wanted us to wait more. The manager was scared chicken of me when i yelled and he ran away from the counter and another guy came and didnt even look at me while speaking. So rude. Adab tak ada. Will never spend money here again and will tell everyone not to come here.

Our first time here. Location wise, on the roadside, below new highway. Parking is ample. Reached there around 7.30 pm on Friday evening, not too crowded. Many choices of western menu available from starter to desserts. Had BeefNQueso tortilla for a start. Wow, love the beef. Not too sour nor spicy. Just nice. My kids love it. Next, we had BBQ grilled chicken. The chicken is tender and juicy, together with asparagus, baked potatoes and garlic. Yes, garlic. I had Seafood Aglio. Was good too, portion just nice for one hungry person. Overall, food is tasty and price is reasonable. Most menu around 15-20 bucks, unless you go for lambs or steaks.

Exceptional value and great food from this very jazzy restaurant! Arrived from the U.K. two weeks ago and was recommended to dine at this place decided to go. A great menu with excellent choices. Had the simple chicken burger which was cooked perfectly, fries were very tasty too. An easy 5/5 based on taste, service, decoration, entertainment and, of course, price! This is definitely the best western eatery I have found after visiting Malaysia on several occasions. Great atmosphere, looking forward to making this my ‘place-to-hang’ when in KL. Thanks for a very modern, cool vibe, perfect for a DJ like me to hang out and eat.
