I MUST switch to local timing for food, anon! It was after 1pm, Sunday, b4 I was able to deal with foraging. And it's almost 2pm b4 I bagged my desserts. A need to be a hunter-gatherer in 2024!?! 🤷

The rm10.90 Breadsman Almond croissant, I'm certain, would be very nice the moment it is for sale. I hope I'll get another crack at it in its full glory. It's of the right croissant size & familiar aroma. Amounts of almonds are ok. Except, it'd be wow if the paste were all inside; dispense with the flakes outside, without or with sugar dusting. IMHO. That was the style of the last amazing almond croissant I had b4 I left for Kuching. The prize is the paste, with the flaky butter fluffy croissant filling the nasal passage. Roasted almond flakes on croissant only, which I've come many times, does not qualify.

The other purchase, the rm7.50 buttermilk toast, felt like a dressed-up leftover chewy baguette. I do appreciate the humidity & air-con plays havoc to foods, but you're the Breadsman, no?

Oh, I hope to bag a chicken pie next time. Love pies.

It'd be great if reviews or the retailer states the optimum time to score great food? General blurb is not cool 🙅! "The proof of the pudding is in the ea...." - a cliché if you don't apply it.

27aug2024 While shopping at Green Heights EVERRISE, I got 2 of the Breadsman chicken & mushroom pie @ rm4.50 each. 4 total in fact, as later in the afternoon, a good friend bought 2 more for me, from the very same place! They're the size of mince pies!?! It's expensive, & I was expecting it to be good, at least. And hoping it is a British sort of pie. In short, it is no way close to being a savoury pie - in taste, pastry. crust, filling, & in size. No hint of mushrooms or runny sauce; but there were 2 corn kernels instead in the dry-ish filling 🤷. There's a lingering sugar & salt after taste. Can't have that happening in a savoury anything, right?

Henceforth, I'm totally going to stick to local staples. Least, I won't be shelling out for any pseudo western substitute, and keep my taste buds & wallet entertained. Plus I don't have to zig-zag/ scoot about for...

I have visited this café many times, and yesterday marked my second visit since they introduced the new “choose a table, order, and pay” system. Unfortunately, both visits left me feeling quite puzzled.

First experience: I chose my table, placed my order, and waited patiently. After some time with nothing arriving, I finally asked a staff about it, only to be told I needed to pay before anything would be prepared. I think it was ok though it wasn’t clearly communicated.

Second experience (yesterday): This time, I made sure to pay immediately after confirming my order. But as I was about to leave, having just returned from the restroom, a staff publicly called me out, insisting I had not paid. It was embarrassing to say the least. After checking, they realized I had paid. When I asked, “I thought unpaid orders were not served?”, the reply was that they actually do serve them regardless; completely contradicting what I was told during my earlier visit.

The “inconsistency” in their procedures was frustrating, but what bothered me even more was the lack of any apology or acknowledgement from the staff. I was met with a look that seemed to say, “How could this even happen? as if I was in the wrong the whole time instead of the system or they did not check before they called me. It didn’t feel right.

That said, I want to make it clear that these hiccups did not change my thoughts about the their coffee, pastries, or ambience, which I still really enjoy. I just hope the service becomes more consistent and communication improves...

The customer service here is literally non-existent. The person who was holding the company phone for taking orders did not even bother to reply and respond to customer’s queries on WhatsApp and told me to just call the shop’s number and then ignored my texts. If your WhatsApp hotline is not for taking customers’ orders, then why did you set the WhatsApp hotline on your Instagram page in the first place? This really caused a huge inconvenience for me. There are customers who would not be convenient to make a call, hence prefer ordering through WhatsApp text. When I called both numbers, the shop and mobile hotline, both persons answered the call very coldly with just a Hi and then stayed in silence, did not even mention the shop’s name at all. I am very disappointed that the staff did not even understand basic customer service. Bakehouse management have to look into this serious issue and provide proper customer service training to their staff before you lose even...

Nice place. Quiet, you can hear yourself think. Good place to have a coffee and be with yourself.

Second time visiting, first time visit during the night. Got shocked at the entrance thought the place is close cause inside too dim. Stop by for dessert and tried the weekend only special - peach banana crumble. Quite sweet with hint of cinnamon but I still feel like something is missing. Maybe try add cream or ice cream? Hot dark chocolate is light and so-so for me. I love the toilet, very considerate. 3 basins with ample space and distance. A stool for kids to wash hand, sanitary pads and flosser. But, i still think the interior lighting needs improvement. Maybe in terms of privacy for each table and short term staying is okay, cause sitting there for 20mins already make my eyes uncomfortable.
