NON Halal. DO ARRIVE BETWEEN 11am to 11.15 am for lunch to avoid disappointment. By 11.45am is will be very crowded. This is definitely the place to have lunch if you want authentic orang Kenyah food. Prices are reasonable. Food is tasty. The atmosphere is really like kampung. So it's good to bring your overseas friends here. It is a bit warm (although there are long ceiling fans) with one or two flies at the food counter (they are trying hard to chase them away). But NO flies at the dining area. So it's just like kampung. At the food counter near the entrance, you take your own plate and utensils. They also give FOC kampung style chilli padi with lime. You scoop your food of choice at the food counter. Show it to the lady supervisor. You also order drinks from her. You pay after eating. There's no cash register at the payment counter. They collect the money kampung style. :) The dining area is huge with Orang ulu decorations. There's a huge stage with LCD. So this place is also suitable for private events. Even the parking area is like kampung. I like...

Busang Jelini Cafe in Lutong, Miri is an absolute gem if you’re a fan of kampung-style cooking—and frankly, who isn’t? Every dish I tried (which was about half the spread, give or take) was packed with flavour and clearly made with heart. It’s the kind of meal that makes you nostalgic for a home you didn’t even grow up in.

The variety on offer is genuinely impressive. I had to admit defeat halfway through, not because the food wasn’t amazing—it was—but because my stomach simply couldn’t keep up with my enthusiasm. I’m already plotting my return, and I might just skip dinner (and breakfast!) the day before so I can do the full tasting justice.

If you’re after hearty, honest Sarawakian food in a relaxed setting, this is the place. Don’t come with a small...

A nice place to have lunch if you work or live around the Senadin/Lutong/Curtin/Prominjaya areas. Variety of Orang Ulu food available (non halal). You won't regret it coming here. I came with my family (from Lambir area) 🫢. Plenty of tables available with good air flow because it is on the lake. Will come here again next time. I guess they have another...
