Nelayan Restoran Pulau Serai (Misi Azlina) — Restaurant in Dungun

We were invited to have dinner at Nelayan Restaurant by Mr. Terrence and Mr. Ramesh on our last night in Tanjong Jara. We arrived around 8.30 pm, and most of the other guests had already left after having dinner early. The restaurant is open-air, so it was a bit warm at night, but they provided stand fans to help cool us down.

We ordered the Angus steak and seafood pasta, and they were incredibly delicious. The only problem was that they didn't have a menu for kids, so I asked if they could make a simple carbonara pasta for my son. Unfortunately, it turned out a bit dry. So, if you want something not on the menu, be careful when ordering.

The special smoothies we had, the Bumbung, and Anjung smoothies, were really good. They were made with unique ingredients like roselle syrup, banana, and cucumber, which gave them a tangy and refreshing taste.

The waiters were very attentive and took good care of us. At night, we could also enjoy watching a bonfire from a distance, which added to the pleasant atmosphere.

The only thing that could be better is if they had a wider variety of food on the menu, like standard pastas and burgers, to give more choices to customers.

Food was good tho their short ribs is in the boneless style. Was quite a let down but for what it was, it was ok. Should clarify the style before ordering. Presentation was good. Pouring wine needs improving. Ambience is very nice. Service was excellent. Pricing is as expected for a place like it. Great for a romantic dinner. Beach is very nice and useable. No sure how safe the water is along this stretch. In this area always check with the locals/hotel staff. Undercurrents can be strong at times. I had a quick lunch here. Ordered the flame-grilled beef burger. It was pretty good. Just wish it had pickles. Then after dinner at another restaurant, we came back here because they have pandan crème brûlée and we were craving for desserts. Omg it was one of the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had!
