I checked into Tanjong Jara Resort today and decided to order in via room service for dinner. Since it was my first time here, I thought of trying something simple and opted for the nasi goreng kampung from the restaurant. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the overall experience.
Firstly, I was surprised that for a RM40 dish, the nasi goreng was served in a simple takeaway clear plastic container without any proper presentation or setup. It didn't give me the feel of a true "room service" experience. It's a shame that the attention to detail was lacking in this aspect.
To make matters worse, the nasi goreng itself was a letdown. It lacked flavor and was surprisingly tasteless. I was hoping for a burst of traditional flavors, but it fell short of expectations. Additionally, the squid in the dish was extremely tough and chewy, making it a struggle to enjoy.
Overall, my experience with the nasi goreng kampung from the in-room food service was disappointing. The lack of proper presentation and the tasteless nature of the dish left much to be desired. I hope that the resort takes these feedback into consideration to improve the quality and experience of their in-room dining options.

Read moreIt was our first time dining here and we’re not familiar with Malay cuisine. Luckily Chef Ann was there to recommended some dishes for us. We ordered what she suggested and it was delicious! We don’t take spicy food that much so she reduced the spiciness as well.
The waitress Kak Maz was super attentive and friendly. It was during fasting month but she was still working when it was buka puasa time. She and her team also surprised my friend with a birthday cake and singing her a birthday song since it was a birthday celebration trip.
Since we’re guests at the resort, our breakfast package is at this restaurant as well. Although food selection isn’t as wide as other resorts may have, it was just nice for us. The food was really good. Quality always trumps...
Read moreThe restaurant setting is magnificent. It's wooden structure, traditional furnishing, strategical layout truly delivers a nice ambience.
But what is all that, when food struggles to impress. Poor tasting, lack of thought, fairly uninteresting, it serves disappointment. Although certain items on their breakfast was acceptable, the rest seems below par. Like spreading salt to an open wound, the hefty toll to pay to crossing this road of low quality food is not cheap either.
Hope that the management can put in extra effort to ensure the quality of items served can be monitored as the place already has what it takes to build...
