7 Feb 2024 update: Food quality seems to improve back and no longer that salty or oily. I went for lunch and so there isn't mosquitoes issue at all as well for me so maybe this place is back in my good books afterall. ☺️

I remember I was a regular visitor also back in the days prior to covid and I also remember the food was excellent or definitely at least above average. But today I found that either my tastebud has changed or the food taste/quality degrades already. I went with a big group of fanily members so we manage to order a lot of dishes and here's my quick summary. Actually two things standout the most to me... they are either salty or very oily.

Tomyam seafood - very salty when it is supposed to be more on sour side for tomyam?

Kerabu mango - still nice. I love the mixture of mango with cashew nuts and fried anchovies

Belacan fried chicken - this is nice as well but some of the chicken piece is so small there is almost like 50% bone 50% meat

Plain omelette - so oily!

Prawn cake - this is nice as well, my kids love it!

Pandan chicken - to me also feels on the oily side but not that bad.

Deep fried calamari - this is also nice when you dip it with the accompanied chilli sauce

Kangkung tempura - omg, my favorite dish but it felt like it was soaked with oil.

All in all, don't think it is as good as before. All I can remember are the food mostly very oily and also the tomyam is a letdown.

Around 3 or at most 3.5/5 stars.

P/S: other than food quality... there are mosquitoes around so recommended to spray some mosquitoe repellent. Service is very good as they capture your order and delivery of food was fast. Although they missed out 2 of my items which i ordered double, I just inform them and they later just deliver the food as well. View and environment is definitely great, by the seaside... what else can...

I am not sure what is wrong but I don't believe the taste is authentic Thai food. Nowhere even close. I don't believe the chef is Thai either because the taste is totally strange. I have tried the Ipoh branch which is equally disappointing.

We ordered whole fried tilapia but sadly the fish tasted like fish that was frozen and not fresh. It was fried too much with flour until the flesh was all too crispy and thin.

The prawns tasted okay but rubbery and the back black lines were not removed. The flavor didn't permeate the prawns.

Although not Thai dish, we ordered the four bean king, which was equally bland.

Not sure what is happening with this franchise. Does the owner come and check the food taste and quality? I have been to better local Thai restaurants which are way more more authentic.

Feels more like Burmese people are brought in for cooking. I don't have anything against Burmese since I also have Burmese colleagues and respect everyone. Just that I feel this is not Thai taste.

(Same like how Malaysian dishes are nowadays cooked by Bangladesh and Nepal people in Malaysia nowadays.)

The only good point in this branch is the sea view. And the only "authentic" part here are the Thai songs being played. And you can have beers with the "seafood", if you like. (Not in the menu, but you can request.)

Anyway, another good point is the people working here serve you well. Food came fast too.

(But the...
