We indulged in a lavish pre-New Year’s feast at Hai Boey, a charming beachfront eatery nestled at the bend of the beach. .Our palates were treated to an exquisite array of ten dishes : 1. Japan Salad ( yee sang) - a vibrant, festive toss of prosperity. The roasted sesame mayonnaise blend of dressing ties the fruits and vegetables together smoothing out the contrasting flavours into a harmonious blend with nutty notes and a creamy finish. 2. Succulent fried meatballs with brinjal - golden and crispy. 3. Tenderly boiled baby octopus, prepared for dipping in sweet chilli sauce. 4 sar hor fun - a silky, savory noodle delightfully , fried evoking the distinct ‘ wok hei ‘ 5. Steamed lala - each bite brimming with the ocean’s essence. 6. Two variations of chili crabs—one laced with velvety egg, the other in its pure, unadorned glory. 7. Clay pot steamed fish in soy sauce, its delicate flavors gently wafting through the steam. 8. Deep-fried tofu, a crisp exterior yielding to a soft, pillowy heart. 9. Fried bitter gourd with eggs, a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. 10. Sweet and sour pork, ingeniously immersed in ice, offering a refreshing contrast. The dinner was not just a meal, but a celebration of flavours, each dish meticulously savoured, leaving us in joyful anticipation of the next culinary marvel. The night was a symphony of tastes, a memorable gastronomic journey we embraced with great zest, leaving no plate untouched, no flavour unappreciated. Despite the picturesque beachfront setting, the absence of a refreshing sea breeze left the atmosphere slightly stifling and warm, casting a veil of lethargy over our spirited gathering. The service, too, echoed this lack of finesse, with the staff’s hurried and unpolished demeanor. Yet, these nuances faded into the background, overshadowed by the restaurant’s undeniable forte—their exquisite food. We found ourselves drawn here, not for the ambiance or service, but for the sheer brilliance of their culinary creations, a testament to where their true strength lies.

Wonderful Seafront dining experience. Walk around the beach after having a delicious meal. So enjoy and so relax! The taste of the food should be suitable for most people. 1. Nyonya curry prawn in Coconut. You can scoop the coconut fresh and eat with the curry (Must try) RM35 2. 咕噜肉 sweet&sour pork "wrap in ice" so special (Must try) RM38 3. Steamed Fish in Claypot. Taste so good! (Must try) RM55 4. Steam Octopus. So bouncing and easy to chew. This one really can not be missed. (Must try) Food serving time is considered fast! It still depends on what you order. (We visit on Tuesday 6pm. We placed 4 orders, and the food was served on the table just after 10min. There are many tables placing orders almost at the same time. ) Reasonable price Very spacious dining area and many tables. There are many photo taking points. Especially the giant Octopus 🐙 is the main point for photo stops. Walking along the beach and children kicking the wave had been a family moment after the meal. And here, you can view the sunset as well. So this place... It's definitely 5 stars in my list interm of Food, Services, Atmosphere. Because you will not come here just to eat and go. You are here for the food and the scenery. "One stone hit 2 birds" ... why not! If you have not been here, I strongly recommend you to come at least once and personally taste what is good to eat and what is good to see (scenery). There are so many things to eat! If you don't know what to order, just show them my photo and order exactly the same. You will be satisfied! Photo Video: 26-Mar-2024, 7pm-8pm

Our recent dining experience at this seaside restaurant was largely positive, with several standout dishes that warrant commendation. The fried chicken was particularly delightful, boasting a crispy exterior and succulent interior that made each bite a pleasure. The prawns, too, were cooked to perfection, offering a fresh and flavorful taste of the sea. Additionally, the fried egg was a simple yet well-executed dish that complemented our meal nicely. The restaurant's setting is another highlight. With a stunning view of the seaside, diners can enjoy their meal while taking in the scenic beauty of the ocean, which adds a serene and picturesque element to the dining experience. However, the pricing of certain items left us quite taken aback. Specifically, the fish was priced at approximately RM 250, a stark contrast to other seafood establishments where similar dishes are available for around RM 50. This significant price discrepancy was unexpected and did put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable dining experience. In conclusion, while the restaurant excels in taste and ambiance, potential patrons should be mindful of the pricing for certain dishes. Overall, it remains a worthwhile destination for those looking to enjoy delicious food with a beautiful seaside view.

In fact, I will give 0 star for this place. The people working here especially the waiters are very arrogant and racist.

My partner and I went for dinner to this place last Sunday, we sat at a table and waited for any waiter to turn up to take orders. We saw many passing by us knowing we just came there and waiting for our order to be taken but they ignored us. We waved our hands several times to few of them to come by our table, but they ignored. My partner went near a waiter ('Waiter A') who was taking order at another table, patiently stood near her almost 10mins until she completes taking order at the other table and showed her our table location and he return to our table thinking she would come by. Yet she just walked off to kitchen just bluntly ignoring us. Halfway losing his patience but trying to keep it cool, my partner went to the counter and complained. The counter lady came to our table trying to explain that the 'Waiter A' have some behavioural issues and that they are running out of workers that day. The counter lady too didn't take our order and told us that she would send someone else to take the order. We waited patiently. But at the end, they send us back the 'Waiter A' to take order. The 'Waiter A' just came walking to us slumber and asking us 'Haven't you all order yet?' in a careless tone and didn't have the curtesy to apologies to us. In fact, none of them apologized for making us wait for very long. After waiting for 45mins and they were so racist and didn't take our orders, we just walked out with frustration, losing our appetite to eat.

I would like to request anyone to advise us if there is any way we can resolve for legal actions or if there are any provisions in our civil rights that we can take actions against such business owners/premises....

The food taste good and the scenery is great too as it was by the beach. However, the experience there was unpleasant.

I called in the noon to reserve table for 7pax. Upon arriving, lady A upon checking told me there was no reservation for me. I then told her there is as I called during noon earlier and it has been reserved.

She then checked with lady B, and lady B said ‘she not sure cause it was her mum that took the reservation in the noon’. Pretty unprofessional and negligence of her response in my point of view.

The price of the food was above average. The crab that we ordered that day was small despite ordering the larger size and the meat was not so good.

The problem is when it comes to the payment which was handled by lady B. The receipt was printed in Chinese and I have to asked lady B to translate for me on what item was it to match the price (thankfully lady B did assist me on this). I then chose to pay with credit card and the payment proceed as normal. After that we took some pictures at the beach and I just had the feeling to look into the receipt again. There was an additional charge on top of the food and the figure just doesn’t match thinking if it was service charge or what. I then went and asked Lady B what was that additional charge was. She then told me it was the charge for using credit card as payment. I got really heated up. I told her you didn’t mentioned that there will be any additional charge for using credit card and SHE CAN JUST TURN AROUND AND PROCEED TO CONTINUE HER WORK AS IF NOTHING HAPPEN. She didn’t even apologize for the incident. I then walk away and will never come to this...
