Cathay Restaurant (Horizon) Sdn. Bhd. 新国泰 — Restaurant in Iskandar Puteri

One of the better restaurant I have eaten in Johor so far. The place is beautiful, great view, not many tables but it's classy. We were expecting to pay very high price for the food but surprisingly, it is average, yet the dish we ordered 4 out of 5 are simply delicious. The must try is san lou beehoon, same as the one near woodland custom, the prawn ball fresh, the curry fish is wonderful! The yam ring taste good too. We will be back to try more dishes soon. The service provided by the manager and staff is good, attentive, maybe because it is not a weekend. The car will have to park downhill, so better let your family alight at the doorway before parking the vehicle...

The food here was average . The price was too high for this kind of food in my opinion the noodles were great but a bit too salty. Their duck was normal nothing special, the egg wrap was too dry and the duck doesn’t taste any special. The pumpkin tofu was normal too, don’t got the taste of pumpkin just feel like plain fried tofu with sauces. Their wine lala dont got the wine taste which isn’t that good. Love their fried oat squid tho, crispy good to pair with rice. Their cod fish wasn’t that good too, the texture wasn’t great and the sauce was normal but the good side is their food wasn’t too oily. We went there to celebrate mother's birthday. Ordered 9 dishes, 1st dish was truly disappointed, sliced fish with ginger , fish was mushy, 13 of us was so shock with the first dish. Followed by pumpkin Prawn, coloured orange sauce(not even pumpkin) Prawn has no taste. the whole dish tasted rubber like Prawn with no salt nor other ingredients. Tea smoke duck was dry and sauce super sweet. We ordered lotus root, deep fried was super oily, other dishes all very disappointed. Felt sorry for mother in law a d her guest.
