Nothing beats a bowl of Kway Teow Tng on a gloomy day, instant perk me up from the soup that is full of umami. Decided to go all out for the special which comes with loads of ingredients of mince meat, baby oysters, livers, kidney, fish maw, pork slices that goes so well with the seaweed and pickled vege soup. It cost RM25 and you can choose dry or soup. Noodles consist of a choice of yellow noodles, mee tai mak (rat tail rice noodles because of its shape), the OG kway Teow and also mee hoon rice noodles too.

We tried the dry one with mixed sauce and the vinegar definitely is more pronounced compared to the chilli sauce. What went so well was actually the fresh chili that is available self serve with soya sauce or fish sauce. Goes so well with the savory soup and noodles.

I do think the L size which is at RM15 has way less ingredients so I recommend order one special and one L so you can transfer some ingredients to your foodie partner :) I find the special bowl has way too much for 1.

Also there is no coffee serve there, only Chinese tea and barley so get your fix...

The restaurant conducted a minor renovation and opened with an improved experience. The cooking is no longer live and taken at back of ground. Repainted and new layout to add a few extra tables. All going digital with scanning qr code to order. For those with no gadget to scan, you can still order via writing down on a order chit. The kitchen behind is definitely bustling with activities with more help in the kitchen to enable your noodles come out faster.

The noodles still very good. The only thing I really missed is the flexibility of adding extra ingredients which the old time have it. Now they have standard bowls of different pricing with different sets of ingredients. Although they enable some flexibility to remove some items and add on some, the options are limited. I cannot add extra noodles, I cannot order a normal bowl and add on extra pig kidney. Otherwise, they are still the neighbourhood fav noodles place!

My fav noodles from as far as my memories started as a child. I was so grateful to be able to eat the noodles again the same way...

I've been coming to this eatery in JB for quite a few years now, and I'm a big fan from Singapore! 🤪 I always make sure to message the young boss beforehand to make sure they have enough fresh oysters for the day before I go over.

The service is good, though it can be a bit pricey, and you might have to wait for about 30 minutes or even longer. But trust me, the wait is totally worth it! You'll be rewarded with a bowl of noodles packed full of fresh ingredients that will tantalise your taste buds with umami goodness.

On my last visit, however, I found the pork slices to be a bit too fatty and tough for my liking. I might ask to leave them out on my next visit!

As long as they keep up their nice and friendly attitude, I'll definitely keep coming back to this noodle house!

#Protip: try to be there before noon to secure a better chance to enjoy your favourite ingredients &...
