Chao Shan @ Desa Cemerlang — Restaurant in Johor

Went to this restaurant and there were lots of empty spaces at that time. I and my family a group of 4 wanted to sit at the round table as all of them are empty. But the vietnamese female waitress insist we sit on the rectangular table by the window, which is not very comfortable. Then I suggested that may we sit at the round table and she suddenly grab reserved tag to put on it?? Funnily they said its been "reserved". And then suddenly arrived group of 3 person came in and say to the waitress 3 pax without reservation. And then thr reserved tag was removed from the table and let them sit ay the round table. And I was like WWHHYY tho? We ordered lots of stuff and there were not enough space to put the dishes and we need to clear other dishes on the spot to have more food coming. Whereas the round table of 3 just ordered a fish in the steel pot then they get to sit round table. I hope the service will improve? As a lot of people also have the same bad experience than me. After reading few reviews on the poor services from the staff of this restn, I was kind of taken a back whether to patronise and eventually decided to take a risk as I was craving for teochew steam fish. When we arrived, we were greeted with warm smile by the wait staff. We were also recommended some signature dishes by Xin Yee, who served us with patient despite that we had changed our minds on certain dishes. We could feel her passion and ever ready to serve. We had the steamed White promfret, fried prawn rolls, sharkfin stir fried egg, seafood porridge and ginko pumkin yam as dessert. The duck is abit too salty and the flavours not infused into the duck and tofu. Fried rice abit tasteless, need to stir in more ikan bilis. Oyster egg is quitr normal, kway teow is bland need more preserved radish.

As an overall normal tzi char, i think it passes. Price wise still quite affordable.
