Sharkfin soup (not too sure if this was the actual dish name) 1/10 No words. This dish was literally just salted msg cornstarch soup and it was served COLD. Like it was room temperature cold. 1 point for being at least edible

Cold Plate 2/10 Very below average, with many very confusing choices. First of all, the fishcakes on the cold plate were kind of hot (warmer than the soup for sure) which would be fine normally, but this is a cold plate??? There was also a mysterious cold duck dish, which just honestly tasted like an experimental dish that shouldn't have made it out of experimentation.

Seafood Fried Rice 6/10 Actually pretty decent. Nice and fragrant egg flavour with well separated grains and a salty, seafood flavour. Only real complaint was that rice was a tad too mushy. Other than that though, nothing to rave about, just a fried rice.

Roasted Chicken 7/10 Probably the best dish out of everything I tasted. Nice tender, flavoursome chicken, with slightly crispy skin. However, again its the temperature that drags it down. It was served cold again, and temperature really, really plays a big role in food.

Overall Food Rt: 3.5/10

Service: 1/10 Okay, this is the main thing that drags everything downhill. I was at a family reunion, was we had a yusheng. After this yusheng, we waited almost 1 hour until the other food started arriving. We were at this place when it was basically empty, so it really was a mystery how they took so long to serve the food. The service was also all over the place, serving the dessert and fruits in the middle of the meal, cold plate being served last when it shld have been first, a real mess. I don't blame the waiters for this, because I suspect this was more of an issue with the management. (Waiters have to deal with enough already)

Atmosphere: 2/10 Good Scenery, however, ruined by the constant waft of cigarette smoke you will get if you choose to sit outside. Inside...

Extremely disappointed with our experience at Dragon Fish Seafood Restaurant. Despite it not being crowded, we were seated in the VIP room, and while we appreciated the prompt service after pressing the service bell, the quality of the food and service fell far short of expectations.

We ordered several dishes, including "Salted Egg Prawn Ball," "Chilli Crab," "Kam Heong Lala," "Fried Meesua," and "Fried Mantou with Condensed Milk." First, the Salted Egg Prawn Ball came with shell, despite us specifically requesting them to be deshelled as recommended by the service manager. Instead of immediately correcting it, the manager tried to get us to accept it as is! We had to send it back, and while the sauce was decent, it wasn’t fantastic.

The Kam Heong Lala was not fresh, and the flavor was bland. The Fried Meesua? WAY too salty—how are kids supposed to eat that? And while the texture of the Fried Mantou was good, it didn't even come with condensed milk (we requested and service manager acknowledged it).

But the biggest disappointment was the Chilli Crab. It arrived with a sour sauce, completely unlike what a chilli crab should taste like. When we questioned it, the manager insisted that it was their chilli sauce—no chili flakes, no heat, just sour sauce! When one of our family members pointed out that they had visited two weeks ago and the crab was different, the manager brushed it off, claiming a change in the head chef. Yet, upon paying the bill (which totaled over RM1000), the cashier informed us there had been no change in the chef at all!

The restaurant could have easily admitted their mistake and apologized, but instead, they doubled down and refused to acknowledge the issue. Well, congratulations, Dragon Fish—you’ve just lost a group of...

Dragon Fish Seafood -JB edition

Came here over the weekend last month. Usually we would go restoran todak for seafood and a nice view of the sea and Singapore. But this time we decided to try this restaurant just beside that had catchy lights.

Like Todak, you can choose your own seafood in the tank and have them cook for you any style you want

$$ (About 150/170 MYR per pax or $40-$45 SGD). Very worth it where can you get this quality and size in Singapore for this price

Steamed Crab (MYR 200 for 1.2-1.4kg) - Meaty and extremely fresh. Will try their chilli and black pepper crab next time

Australian rock Lobster noodles (MYR 266 for 1.2kg) - This is the only Chinese style lobster that I feel is the best way to cook it. Noodles were not too soggy but yet infused with lobster taste. Meat was tender and huge legs with meat in it

Sambal sweet potato leaf (MYR 16) - Wok hey and sambal taste is good. vege is fresh too

Bamboo clam (MYR 25 per piece) - Ok this is abit expensive and small, maybe not in season. Taste wise is good, can’t go wrong with bamboo clams

Giant cockles - ordered but didn’t come, will be back to try next time.

Overall 9/10

Service 9/10 - The guy who helped us choose the crab was extremely honest and told us which one looked better or had better value. He was also very apologetic for the cockles when it didn’t came

Ambience - Beautiful. A nice indoor area and a well decorated outside area facing the sea

Food - loved it. Will return

Price - Very good value vs Singapore

First time trying out another restaurant in this area to see if there is something better and found dragon fish. As compared to the other “famous” location, Dragon fish seafood is much more upscale. Everything from the paved carpark , entrance , lighting. Overall ambience is very welcoming and cozy. If you hold a wedding dinner here, no one would bat an eye. That said, outdoor siting was extremely hot and I was sweating like no tomorrow. This was not the case compared to Todak. Now, we are here for the food, not for the fancy interior. Food was fresh, crab was meaty and well cooked, pepper was fragrant. Overall? Great dish However Indonesian curry prawns were a big letdown. Prawns don’t seem fresh and wasn’t very “Q”/bouncy. More towards the milky side while the other restaurant has stronger curry flavour For the service, I found it to be great. Wait staff were friendly , takes initiative and I never had trouble finding assistance. Last but not least, price. I found it to be significantly more expansive as compared to the other famous outlet. They are charging 240rm per kilo for crabs which is an insane amount. To put it into context and as compared to eating at todak, for the same amount of $, we would have an extra crab there compared to Dragon fish seafood Based on the above, unlikely to be back unless I’m looking for a cozy setting for a special occasion

Inconsistent. My second time here. First experience was wonderful, served by an uncle at the seafood tanks. Had a good live 950g crab and live tiger prawn and fish. This time round for lunch, the shellfish aren't in yet. Served by an auntie. She wasn't keen to offer us the live tiger prawn at all. Even though we make it clear we want live tiger prawn, she keep rattering on how good their Ming prawn is in the kitchen. I gave up as I wanted the crab more. Obviously the Ming prawn is not live ones, and sold at the same price as the tiger prawn. After finish ordering, auntie still want to sell me dong xin ban fish at RM26.5/100g. Mind you the fish is not live one! We didn't take it cos I m upset about the prawn Crab: see the photos. I don't know why one pincher can look full of meat but the other pincher meat can look so small compared to the shell. We only ordered one crab. How can one crab have such unbalanced meat over its two pinches? Beats me....... To make things worse, I brought my sis and mum as my first experience was good. But I high doubt I will come back again for some time. In you really want come, look for the uncle to serve you
