Mat Corner Nasi Ambang — Restaurant in Johor

My go to place for Nasi Ambeng since early 2000. The queue is long during lunch hour but the team works efficiently to move it.

My choice has always been “Double Thigh Banjir” (Nasi Ambeng with 2 chicken thighs, sauce to be flooding). Have it there or takeaway, it’ll still be great to eat.

Note that during the fasting month of Ramadan (the shop will be closed) but they will be selling packed Nasi Ambeng at the stall in front for Muslims to buy...

Best Nasi Ambang ever in JB at Mat Corner. Nowhere else have come close to taste and consistency. Each time I'm here, I am never disappointed. The only disappointment is when Mat Corner is sold out or the store is closed. Long queues every lunch time. They will sell Nasi Ambang until it is finished (usually around 2-3pm). Venerable Johor Bahru institution serving one of the best Nasi Ambang in the city. Unique in that it does not have Mi Goreng as a component in the dish, so some might say it is technically not Nasi Ambang.
