Restaurant Evergreen — Restaurant in Johor

Better known as Evergreen. The restaurant occupies the corner unit of a row of double storey shop houses. The space feels more like two units with the wide walkway serving as part of the restaurant. Although the restaurant in not air conditioned, it is well ventilated with a generous number of ceiling fans. There is a large number of big tables that can easily accommodate up to 10/12 people. The food is very reasonably priced and of a very good standard. Favourites here are the fish head/tail - both curry or steam. My personal favourite is the ladies finger with ikan bilis - a delightful combination not usually done in the other eateries. There is also a wide selection of desserts like chendol and ice kacang. SNOBBISH! Went after 3pm to make dinner reservations, but was rudely turned away. Was told no reservations because dinner is full house but can only walk in during dinner time to try to get a table. So I decided to make my order so that I can try to walk in later, but was told rudely that I can't order cos I dont have a table yet. Not apologetic yet arrogant as if EVERYONE wishes to eat there. All the food is pretty tasty and at hawker center prices. Service is pretty fast too. My favorites are chinese style mee rebus, abacus seeds, stewed duck with yam and salted egg mushrooms. The Chendol in a glass is a pretty generous portion. The whole tilapia dishes are great value at rm18 and rm28 for the popular fish curry(sutera mall).
