Sekumpul Ikan Bakar — Restaurant in Johor

Very nice seafood place beside a large paddy field. If you come in the evening, you might see the color of the sky changing, accompanied by the calling of the prayer from nearby mosque.

Food was nice. Everything was satisfactory and the food was flavoured adequately. However, the place and be surrounded by flies and some bugs, but that's just part of the package being surrounded by nature.

Tom yum was not spicy and sweet but not sugar sweet-more from the sweetness of the seafood. The fried squid was slightly salty but cooked at the right temperature. Hence it wasn't gummy!

I recommend this eatery if you'd like to wind down after exploring mersing...

If there are 10 stars I give it 10 stars. Food was very good! We were 2 of us, so even though we ordered set of 2-3 people, they still give us portions for 3 people. Service was beyond words. We didn't drive. After food we asked if they have someone who could drive us to our resort which was close by. Iza was the lady who drove us. Food was great. But the drinks are strange. For example, the watermelon juice is for some reason is hot.

Also, when you ordered prawns, the waiter ask how many “grams” would we want to order instead of how many portions (System like Small, Medium, Large or the quantity system using how many pieces of prawns). I don’t think using grams is the optimal way. Unless we pick the seafood ourself then measure the weight itself.
