Terrible service and food. Not too sure this is a local custom. When we made reservation for dinner, they asked if we need to pre order the dishes to avoid long wait. So we thought good idea and we then preordered it. They asked us to arrive earlier to avoid crowd. When we arrived at 6pm, we were told the table was at level2. When I asked can we have it at level 1. They said no and all were booked by others.. but I saw 2 tables being occupied. I said my mum can’t walk up stairs as no lift or escalator. They said sorry don’t have and not choice, they said they told us at level 2 and we here for first time , I have no idea and clearly no one told us. When we almost walked out from the restaurant as no way we can’t dine there, they decided to give us a table. When we sat down, they keen pushing us to serve the food and we said still have to wait another 2 guests o come. 5 mins later , they came a again said if we didn’t want now.. they would start to serve level 2 and we have to wait very long. Hence , we agreed to serve but told them to serve it slowly as my other guests are on their way. I was shocked they served almost all dishes at one go as long as there a space on the table. I started to suspect they probably pre-cooked the dinner for us. Food served rather not so hot but warm, food quality is bad and not so fresh. The salt and pepper prawn were not fresh as the meat inside smelled and clearly not well related.. shell all intact .. ! The steam tofu is like buying a piece of tofu outside and you cooked some sauce in it. The braised meat with yam was so bad, I can’t even taste the nostalgia braised meat and I just few like eating with soya sauce. The port trotter was so so bad and I can only eat the skin with bone. The fried vege rather raw and bland! The steamed fish was at acceptable taste but probably should have use smaller fish as the tail was out of the plate ! Meat rather too rough to my liking. The Thai chicken just average as nothing done on the meat than just sauce pour on it . The most disappointing is the fried noodle, felt like way cooking with precooked noodle and precooked broth to add on it. Overall , rude service as when I asked to serve slowly. I was given a look that nothing he can do! Else please don’t come. Worst the food tasted bad and not worth my calories! The boss came out when we paid to say sorry, I think she was still protecting her staff and not improving any service level in years Rockne. But I won’t come back here for sure as there are many more at Segamat you can try. Follow me to see what I ate in Segamat, please do avoid this restaurant. I finished my dinner in 45 mins .. 😂!

One of the most disappointing meals. Firstly, the hostess was extremely rude. We booked two tables and she insisted we had one. It was clear on her reservation list there’s two - she can’t even read her own reservation list. First dish we had was the noodles and it was not seasoned properly and it’s the same across most dishes except the cuttlefish. We ordered sweet sour pork but was served chicken. We asked the hostess to check and she rudely said - “ I don’t know. It’s what the kitchen gave me”. Then we tried to order another dish, same rude hostess told us they have to serve according to what was ordered earlier and then walked away. We didn’t want to make a scene so we let it go. Then came the last dish - Chinese pancake which everyone was looking forward to it. What a great disappointment. It was Horrible! The dough was raw and the kicker was they insisted that it’s cooked - it’s only not as crispy said the Manager. I tried two pieces and SPAT both out. Both were DISGUSTING!!!! What’s worst was when we were paying, the manager insisted that’s how it’s supposed to taste like. Therefore should you heed my warning to want to try dining at that place - please avoid at all cost the Chinese pancake unless of course you enjoy chewing on raw stale dough.

I had a terrible experience at Tai Ah Restaurant . The service was incredibly slow, even though the place wasn’t busy. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get our drinks, and the food took even longer. When it finally arrived, it was cold and bland—definitely not worth the price.

To make matters worse, the staff was inattentive and seemed uninterested in helping. We had to ask multiple times for refills and basic condiments.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are plenty of better options out there with good food, decent service, and a clean atmosphere. Definitely a...
