Just want to share my previous experience here. Well, overall I can say that I was really satisfied with this restaurant due to few elements that I want to enhance here. First of all, this is not my first time coming here. Previously, I came here with my beloved husband and tried the mee bandung. Well to be honest, the taste was just fair but still acceptable as I love spicy food but the food was a bit sweet. But, the portions was unbelievable as I needed to share with my husband or else we would waste the food. Comes with mussel, fish balls and ect, you will be fine and not regret. So that time, I would give 4 stars. Later, revisited again and ordered bihun goreng extra spicy, sterloin steak and spaghetti carbonara , well this made me feel euphoric. Hahaha it was unexpected as only with one sips of carbonara… I had already fallen in love with it. Believe it or not, then we decided to add on another plate of carbonara hahaha. The steak also full of aromatic spices and came with splenish of homemade black pepper sauce. This heated the cold raining environment outside the restaurant that time. My husband enjoyed his mouth watering meal so much. He also said that the meat used melted in every bite and the juice was incredible fantastic. As for the bihun goreng, just nice . Well I needed to add on extra green chilies to enhance the spicy taste. Well, this will be a good place to pleasure as there was play room here thus kids can play around. I was so excited and touched as I saw there were miscellaneous kind of toys over there. The prayer rooms also quite huge and clean. So to all muslim you can perform your prayer here very well. Talk about the cleanliness well , superb. That’s all for me.. and yes, there were lot of free parking space here ....
Read moreThe restaurant was easy to find with lots of free parking spot available nearby. The atmosphere inside the premis was quite bustling with people so I opted to eat outside. The waiter will give you menu and QR sheet to scan and order.
About the foods, there were tons of choices in the menu. I ordered Crispy Oriental. Asked for extra rice and extra spicy but the rice portion didn't seem like extra at all. Not to mention they didn't make it spicy as I asked. The chicken fillet was cooked to perfection but the breading they used tasted bland and the blackpepper sauce was average. But it still filled up my stomach for what it's worth.
Then I ordered Salted Egg Seafood Pasta. I asked them to remove prawns since I'm allergic to them but they removed all the seafood components from the dish leaving only the pasta for me. I had to return the pasta to the waiter and after 5 minutes they replaced with a new one. The replacement had some mussels and very tiny squids. Now, about the taste, the pasta tasted average. Nothing fancy about it. There's only a hint of salted egg in it. I was quite dissappointed since the pasta costed about RM20+ and the taste and seafood components portion didn't match up to its price.
The price for drinks were borderline ridiculous. A Hot Teh O costs about RM3.20 and Cold version costs additional RM1.00. Luckily there was a 7E nearby so I just bought drinks from there since it were cheaper.
Overall, I felt kinda dissappointed with their foods. The service staff was quite good. Would I come here again in the...
Read moreHonestly the only reason we decides to check out this restaurant is because it explicitly features a playground for kids, something that we think more restaurants should adopt.
Mainly Western food is served, high quality but bit expensive from your usual Malaysian western cuisine. I'd have to say I'm satisfied with the food. Good presentation, quality and taste. However...
The only reason The Pinggan Cafe did not get 5 stars from me is the condition of its children playground. Despite marketing the playground in one of the restaurant's promo videos, it is actually poorly maintained, and most importantly, NOT SAFE. A lot of toys has broken and made the toy pieces became sharp, thus become a hazard to the kids. The playing area itself is small and cramped, and doesn't look very hygienic.
It is a good initiative from the restaurant to include a playing area as the next wave of babies from millenials has been born (I brought my 1 year old girl to play) - but it is executed poorly. Hopefully they didn't see the playing area as just a marketing ploy, and actually take steps to make it SAFE...
