KAYAN Coffee & Food — Restaurant in Kajang Municipal Council

We came here by accident because we didnt like the foodcourt environment inside. So we were here just for the comfort (aircond, good lighting, good chairs etc.) without high expectations on the foods. I was sceptical at first and thought this cafe was just like any other fancy cafes out there. You know - fancy food, high price, taste so-so etc.

But suprisingly all the foods we ordered were delicious! From masakan panas (mee mamak, nasi goreng etc.) to western (mushroom soup, pasta, lamb chop etc.). To my suprise, they have a cheese spinach ravioli! And it taste great, jussstt like when I had it in Italian restaurant long time ago. Only that the look of it could be improved - the presentation i mean.

Other than that - drinks, crepes & desserts are fine. The food price were in the mid to high range, but I dont mind paying when the foods are this good! We are happy customers & wont mind to repeat!

Room for improvement: please serve the menu for the kids first thing first ok. Since they have VERY low patient level & took a longer time to eat! In our case, the food came last for the kid while all adults were enjoying their foods - well i think you can imagine what happen next 😢

I knew this place from my cousin posts and recommendations on her social media. So, I think I should give it a try though. However, my visit here just a lil bit unpleasant. I ordered buttermilk chicken with rice. The buttermilk sauce is too light. I expected it to be thick as most of the places that I visited when I order buttermilk chicken, the sauce is thick and just nice. But I try to be thoughtful, maybe it's their buttermilk chicken style.

Then I order chicken wings. On the menu, it is say that supposedly I should get 7 pieces of chicken. When my order arrived, I only received 6 pieces. I try to ask with the waiter to confirm how many pieces should I get and he also said that it should be 7 pieces. But when I informed him that I only get 6 pieces, the respond that I get is quite dissapointing. No apologize, no compensation received. Nothing! Until it is time for me to pay for the meal, still nothing.

This maybe my first and last time visiting this place. To the owner, my suggestions, you should improve more your services especially your staff, try to teach them a proper manner and response when a customer is asking or commenting something. I'm not saying they are rude, but maybe lack of...

Im having a hard time to vibe with everyone’s positive comments in this review section. Well.. i guessed it was my unlucky day. Every dishes that was served to us just off. Im quite upset to be honest. Here we go; The salmon was too dry while the pasta under seasoned. The bruschetta was too soggy not to mention the bland toppings. The bolognese spaghetti gravy was lack of tomatoes that was supposed to be the key ingredient in bolognese. They have the audacity to serve burnt nuggets to my daughter. Simple kids menu.. My goodness! The mushroom soup with garlic bread was ok after all. The restaurant ambiance was cozy warm & clean. Fast service

The waitress was politely asking for the food review in which i have given some. I don’t know why they gave us 15% off but thank you. Resto chains nowadays are definitely in survival mode. I do hope u guys take my 2 cents worth of comment for some...
