First visit to this restaurant. As we arrived at this place, we saw many vehicles parked and assumed there was a crowd at this restaurant. Truly enough, it was crowded. Since they had indoor and outdoor sitting, we decided to sit outdoor because inside was full of people. Mentally we had prepared to wait (judging the crowd) for our food. We placed our orders and started chit chatting. Oh my!!!!!! First dish arrived with minutes after the order! We looked at one another and thought it might not be ours..😁..the next one came and followed by the rest. It was the first time we ever got our food THAT FAST!! It should be noted that we were very pleased with that magic…😁😁…super duper efficient service! As the name FRESH WATER FOOD, it was really fresh water fishes because I don’t know a single fish on the menu…🥹…Food was good and tasty. Not salty , not sweet. Just nice for my palate. Pricing is also reasonable. Outdoor sitting wasn’t hot due to the shades and greens you can see. Amazing fish aquarium with huge fishes to watch. Parking is available on site. I guess many Penangites take a ride over there as there were many P plate vehicles…🤭… Nice restaurant to...

Overall the food taste is good. Plenty of space for you to park your car. But for tomyam soup is way too salty, we can’t even finished the soup.

Things should be improved to get good impression for your first time customers:

  1. The way how you greet your walk in customers, no greeting, no smile, no introduce your famous dishes, no communicate (I feel like only one way communicate)
  2. The flies inside your air conditioning restaurant is so terrible! Please at least install the anti flies machine to improve the hygiene issue. While we eating the flies is just everywhere around your food.
  3. NO PRICE IN YOUR MENU, this is not right, you should at least put your price for customer to know
  4. Ask for printed receipt, they will only give you handwritten receipt when you are paying the bill, if you asked for only they will print for you
  5. The forks and spoons, and drinking glass that they served with is not clean enough, I can see fish scales stick with my spoon and I have to clean it myself

As long as all these improved, you are still a good...

4th visit to Kg. Baru Bagan Samak and 2nd visit to KFWF. This village is also known as 河仙村 (freshwater seafood village).arrived past lunch and we had the whole a/c section to ourselves. Ordered :-

  1. Deep fried Tilapia in house special sauce @ RM42 - crispy skin and flaky flesh. sauce is appetizing.
  2. Egg Foo Yung @ RM10 - ok
  3. 2x Sambal petal @ RM16/each - crunchy petai and the sambal sauce is very good with rice. we went on to order another one. Portion is a tad small!
  4. Red Wine Chicken @ RM20 - crispy skin with moist meat. the way they prepared this dish is good.

Good food, reasonable priced. Clean, airy and spacious dining experience. They have a/c section, non a/c open dining section and also private dining rooms available. Would say one of the preferred restaurant among locals....

Amongst the plethora of restaurants serving freshly caught river seafood, we opted to try Kang- which offered a wide space for big group of company for gathering. Here you can choose to eat outdoors or indoors (with air conditioning). For starters, a must order is the prawn cake which had a lot of prawns in the mixture rather than flour and MSG. We enjoyed the steamed river pawns which were sweet and fresh. The steamed fish was quite good as well- the spicy and sour sauce was quite addictive. The deep fried fish was crispy and not too oily- the sauce accompanying the fish was not too sweet nor sour. Stir fried sambal paku wasn’t too salty. Least favourite would be the sambal river prawns as the sambal overpowered the taste of the prawns.
