Kopi & Roti — Restaurant in Kedah

Pro: good ambient, clean. Cons: iced chocolate very watered down, and matcha very very subpar. It's a bad thing if you make a customer think a RM1.80 iced Milo at a warung taste better. If don't taste so good, at least make the price more justified. Also we wanted to order a vegetarian item but it was out of order, so we picked another which we thought was also non-meat, because those two item names were very similar and were very suggestive of vegetarian. But it turned out, there was chicken for this one. When we told them about this, no sorry, no suggestions, no nothing. Luckily we are just casual vegetarians. We eat less meat because we are health and environment conscious. If for strict vegans they sure will be in for trouble. Look, i don't expect waiters here to be trained like those F&B industry standards in Melbourne or San Francisco, but since you're doing Western category, at least be more sensitive of people's diet preference and needs, be more proactive in giving warning or advice. If customers don't look happy with the drinks or food they get, again, be proactive and suggest something to win them back. Don't give them a chance to express their dissatisfaction on your so-so food and worse drinks on Google Map. If an item is out of order, be proactive, cross it out on the menu. And if you really know anything about the rising non-meat awareness among some of us who are progressive and forward thinking especially since the pandemic, then be serious in providing and promoting non meat alternatives. You're doing Western, with "Western price", so you're going to attract western minded people with some global mindedness. Or else, convert to nasi...

I planned to go here eversince i hit the highway to go up north. Been to Kupi & Ghuti's cafe, another version of this Kopi & Roti. It was the kampung version of them.

Setup was nice. The floor, the ids, the ambience. As for the menu, not much to offer. Same goes to the coffees. No blended or frappes. Ordered the croissants, the taste was good. And they gave us sugar instead of syrup. ????

The toilet needed a thorough cleaning tho.

And shockingly, nobody care to answer all these reviews. Quite surprising this is.

To the owner, you've spent quite a fortune on the cafe. Please improvise your menus, and the service. Your barista hand over all the drinks without using any tray at all. Well, that's absurd.

What makes your cafe different? The coffee?? The croissants? As for me, the service and the cleanliness. Bayaq mahai takpa asai puaih ati.

Nonetheless recommended lah untuk santai...

Actually the food n coffee is OK one. But the place have lots of lots of lots of mosquitoes and I strongly suggest they can put on a insect repellent device 😅

Open at 9am and 9.30 is already full house. Unexpected to see they have filter coffee in my small hometown cafe but did not try due to I see one man show taking order, making beverage plus sending drinks make the service very slow, I'm not complaining maybe they can't get hire but it's not sustainable doing so.

Maybe can make self order system and/or self pick up at least reduce the staff walking around and can focus more on their beverage making.

I feel sorry to them to handle it tbh. Hope my next visit...
