One of my favourite lunch spots.
The location is very convenient as it’s right beside the main road, making it easy to stop by. One of the highlights is the extensive variety of dishes available — so much so that it took me a while just to decide what to eat. On top of that, you’re serenaded with classic old songs performed by seasoned local artists under a small gazebo, which adds a charming touch to the whole experience.
However, nothing is perfect in this temporary world of ours. One thing I’d like to highlight from my experience is the pricing, which I find to be a bit inconsistent — especially considering I’ve had the same dishes on multiple occasions. This could be due to different individuals handling the pricing.
The meal I had (as shown in the picture) cost RM36. Honestly, that’s quite reasonable.
Still, I’d advise a bit of caution — especially for broke people like me 😝
All in all, definitely one of the better lunch spots to include in your list when comparing places in terms of price, variety, and cleanliness. This restaurant is in my Top 5 lunch places in Langkawi.

Read moreFinally got to try this restaurant after being in Langkawi for 5 mths this year. Well patronised which is always a good sign for any eating place. It’s a little out of Matsirat and hidden on a filter road from the main Kuah-airport road. Have to say though that this is without doubt one of the best Malay lunch places on the island. For seafood lovers, the variety of Ikan bakar (BBQ seafood) is without peer. I had a starter of clear beef soup with a spoonful of rice added and it was totally enjoyable. Had to pick out the green chillies which was added as a garnish by the staff. For the main I forced myself to be happy with one fish cutlet and one mid size squid and some bitter gourd all self served over rice. Yes, I’ll be back again. A well deserved 4 star for an authentic kampong food experience in a clean and spacious...
Read moreWe (10 of us) had lunch on 29/4/23 at 3.00 pm at this Restaurant Selera Kampung, Jalan Padang Matsirat. The restaurant served plenty of food. We ate kerabu bronok, ikan bakar, ulam & sambal and daging samak The only person didnt eat the kerabu bronok was my mom. Unfortunately the night 9/10 of us had terrible diarrhea & vomitting and high fever which led us to spent the night at the emergency hospital for a drip. My father in law who is 83 years old was admitted to the ward as his oxygen turned low due to food poisoning. We end up spent the night at the hotel room the next day as we were terribly sick. Luckily our flight on 1/5/23 and we managed to catch up the flight after signing the "take own risk letter" from the hospital. As a conclusion: We advised others not to eat at the restaurant especially if u want to...
