It seems like Kedah has never failed to impress me with their beautiful nature and tasty food . This time, we travelled a lil further up north to Jitra to this popular Thai restaurant ☺️ run by a Thai owner (Malaysian) who used to work in Singapore just like I do. ✌ It’s been 5 years since he started Sabai Dee Cafe, and even his Singapore customers would travelled here just for the food (despite there were no direct international flight ✈️ to Alor Setar). The restaurant is located near the paddy field. From the entrance, if you’re lucky, you get to enjoy the scenic sunset view across the paddy field.. and eventhough the road there is slightly narrow and darkbut the journey is definitely worth it. We were welcomed by their rustic yet serene landscaping ♂️with beautiful plants and warm decorative lights, complementing each display of the Thai cultures. Indeed a perfect dinner place for couples, family and friends Tried their signature Miang Kham Fried Fish and we were lost of words ⚠️ Never knew it could taste so good! He definitely have his way to create such an interesting food fusion! ⏳ Other dishes were equally good and fantastic! You just gotta try them all!
In terms of ambience, food quality, taste and price, I would rate them 9.5 out of 10. Thank you Rick for your warm hospitality too. We’ll definitely be back again with our fellow divers and friends
Do you know what else is good about this restaurant? Well, they do not serve Pork or Lard, so our fellow Muslim friends are welcomed here too! In fact when we were there, 40% of the customers were Muslim .
What a wonderful place for us all Malaysians to hang out together. Planning your makan trip soon? Come to Kedah! No regret for sure!

Read moreOne of the authentic halal Thai food restaurant in Jitra. Recommend to make a reservation before visiting, it is always full house. Food is fine, price is average. Their landscaping and romantic environment with dimmed lighting creates great dinning experience. If you are unable to reserve during dinner time (6-8pm), you might consider to reserve after the peak dinner hour. Their latest menu is too simple (only text) without any photos, we ended up ordered different kind of dishes. Their previous menu was way much better with good pictures. I would suggest to have the waiter to recommend and explain in details what are the dishes on the menu about, else you might ended up with some "challenging" Thai dishes. Road access and parking is always a serious pain to visit this famous Thai restaurant. The access kampung road only allow a single car to pass, and you will face challenging driving skill when another car approaching from the other direction. Very limited parking space inside their compound and you might ended to park your vehicle on the road side. Please be extra careful do not fall into the...
Read moreThis place offers great authentic Thai cuisine. Went there around 6.45 pm and being greeted with lovely sunset.
The surrounding are super nice, dining area are decorated with vast types of tropical plants. Nicely done. The owner, is super nice and helpful in explaining the menu, giving suggestions and taking feedback from customers.
As for the food, the steamed siakap are perfectly seasoned, the spiciness and the sourness is well balanced, not overpowering each other. 'Cha Om' omellette are great especially if you are cha om lover. But as for chicken padkrapaw, personally are just average, I've eaten better padkrapow, the salted egg squid is quite good.
But the highlight is the dessert. Combination of the creamy santan and the sweetness from the gula melaka join together with slight sourness from the fruit in a bowl, what more could you ask. Ending your dinner with high notes.
Enough words, just go there and try it...
