Jiran Cafe Kota Bharu — Restaurant in Kelantan

I had missed my exams, my assignments got their submissions denied, some branch of a tree fell onto my car, missed my flight, lost some money but your cafe is really on another level of bad that I felt gutted on the day that I unfortunately recommended your cafe to my family, way more than any of the other misfortunes combined. The place is atrocious, to say the least. It broke my heart to see my brother and little sister left after waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes without getting their food and drinks served. Upon checking, I ended up knowing that one food was not even in the order when, mind you, we have constantly reminded and inquired the waiter regarding our food. Not to mention the first thing that was served to us after 1 hour and 15 minutes was plain water (cold). This 1 star is because the food tasted fine (especially the pizza). And also because I can't seem to give half a star. I have seen reviews from last year for this kind of matter but I fail to see any effort from your side to improve. At the end of the day, the service is still lousy. You are short-staffed, the waiter that served us was not particularly good, there was no proactive measures (e.g. telling the customer of the average waiting time for that night), and as this is not the first time this is happening, I am assuming that the management or the owner himself is remorseless.

Imagine going to the cafe to have dinner, waited for 1 hour and 45 minutes only to return home starving because the food never came. For goodness sake, they went home and ate Maggi. Because Maggi never disappoints....

Like the ambiance here.. Friendly staff.. Can opt to sit downstairs or upstairs that has aircond.. And how considerate that they offer a plastic cover to put your mask while eating.. menu & ordering via qr code which is good, but I wish that they put more pictures of the food in the menu.. Overall, the food price and the food portion is reasonable..

Fries & wedges : 5 star : They serve it hot and the crispiness was just nice.. Nice serving tray too..

Grilled NZ lamb : 4 star : The coleslaw was too creamy & the vegies sliced too thin.. mash potato was good.. pasta was good but a lil bit salty.. lamb was good but a lil bit extra chewy.. black pepper sauce was good.. Overall, recommended..

Seafood Aglio Olio : 2 star : Expected it to be spicy since there was an option to not want spicy.. it was not spicy at all.. the spaghetti lack of seasoning, no herbs, maybe some basil or mixed herbs or a bit of pepper or chilli flakes maybe.. the seafood, there was some dory fish I think which was super duper duper duper salty.. and prawns & mussels which...

Located amidst a vibrant streets of Kota Bahru, Jiran Cafe offers a delightful fusion of Western flavours in the heart of Kota Bahru. From juicy grilled chicken chop to streaky beef white pasta, each dish boasts tasty sauces (though a bit watery) and portions that are just nice. The chicken chop had nice crispy batter, coleslow & slightly cold fries. The mushroom soup also came cold, sadly.

The cozy romantic low light ambiance (suitable for couples celebrating occasions) and friendly service (waitress informed us that they only had 2 chefs and food might take about 30-40 minutes) complement the mouthwatering dishes, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and travelers craving a taste of the West in Kelantan.

The drinks are affordable yet tasty. There werent any options for less ice but less sugar was available in their online ordering via QR code.
