Foon Look 欢乐茶室 was the first stop my brother brought me to right after I landed in KL — and honestly, what a perfect welcome meal. It’s been one of his favourite spots for years, and I can see why. There’s clearly a special bond between him and the chicken rice stall boss, and after tasting the food, I’d probably want to be friends with the guy too.

We went all in — ordering bits of everything. It looked like a feast too big to finish, but the moment we started eating, all hesitation flew out the window. Every bite was so tasty, well-balanced and comforting, we cleared the plates in the end.

Now, the coffee here deserves its own paragraph. My brother gave me a heads-up that the coffee stall owner is, let’s say… uniquely passionate. According to him, the guy has a bit of an eccentric streak — but in a good way. He’s very particular about how the coffee is made, and that’s exactly what makes it great. Nothing is pre-made or rushed. You won’t get the usual kopi ping with watered-down ice here. This is proper, strong, aromatic coffee with care and soul in every cup. Yes, it might take a little longer to be served, but honestly? It’s worth every second of the wait.

In a world where most places are about speed over substance, it’s refreshing to find a shop that takes pride in doing things right.

Best chicken rice and coffee so far in KL — and a meal I’ll remember not just for the food, but for the...

There is a Rule, this is a Library Restaurant. Talking is only permitted if you sit out of the main area. There is a sign there but it's a tad small. So keep your voice down if not they may be annoyed and raise their voice at you.

It was a clean restaurant when I went during CMCO. SOP is practiced . Coffee was pretty decent and they serve Eggs and Kaya Toast as well. Claypot Noodles are pretty good too. The Economy Rice Seller is friendly and generous. The aunty sometimes gives out free side dishes to those whom eat at the shop . Today she gave us fried wontons . During rainy days , the pace is very cooling !!! Definitely a regular breakfast spot . Roast Chicken and Roast Pork Rice is good too if not one of the best in the area of Wangsa Maju and TBR !! Portions are decent !!! Take note that if you were to only buy the roast meats it will cost more so it's best to buy...

It's a good place for breakfast. Recommend the shop at the end. They serve pretty good cabonara and big breakfast. For lunch, you should try the chicken rice stall that most TARUC student and staff will line up for. The sesame chicken and charsiew is good. I ordered together with my friend and we ordered the 2 person's portion. Worth it because uncle will give u more. For the drinks, try the kopi there. Pretty good. One down side of this place, owner has a really bad atitude. Does not know how to treat her customer and regular customer properly. If you are there, don't talk so loudly or else she will ask u to shut up or leave the shop. There r 'house rules' all over her shop. I remember making noise in the shop with my friends and she asked us to shut up. The next time we came i tgt, she remember us and remind...

Thursday 17 April 2025 - this shop has been in existence for a very long time. At least 40 years. The shop's name is 歡樂茶室, translated as Happy coffeeshop. The required Malay signboard is in the midst of replacement. Previously it was very shabby. Just like any other coffee shop. Now it has slightly organised and improved on its outlook and arrangements. Food is just okay. Catering mainly to students as nearby is a large education institution which has been in existence since 1969. Order food from the respective food stalls and pay. Cash and e-wallet payment accepted, by each individual food stall. Prices are reasonable as mainly catering to students. Refreshments are operated by the shop owner.
