ONCE IS ENOUGH.

There’s an old English saying "When it rains, it pours." That perfectly sums up our disastrous experience at this restaurant. A series of unfortunate events that left us not just disappointed but physically unwell. The next day, we suffered from sore throats, runny noses, and hot flushes all over our bodies.

Here’s what went wrong: Flawed Design & Poor-Quality Mu Kratha Pot We’ve been to countless Mookata restaurants, from Chinese hot pots to Korean BBQ joints, but never have we encountered such subpar cooking equipment. The pot and pan had poor heat transfer, making cooking a painfully slow process. Worse still, we suspect the low-quality material may have contributed to us falling sick.

Stressful Environment & Time Pressure Due to the pot’s poor insulation and low thermal conductivity, the barbecue pan took forever to heat up. The small surface area meant it took ages to cook the meat. Add to that the restaurant’s strict two-hour dining limit, and we were left feeling rushed and stressed, completely killing our appetite.

Potential Health Hazards (Microplastics & Toxic Chemicals?) I was shocked and disgusted to see that the restaurant served top-up soup in a plastic pitcher. Are they unaware or just willfully ignorant? of the risks of microplastics and cancer-causing agents leaching into hot liquids? This is a serious health concern.

False Advertising (No Side Dishes in an ‘All-You-Can-Eat’ Buffet) With price tags of MYR 39.90, MYR 49.90, and MYR 59.90, we expected a decent buffet spread. But unlike other Mookata spots in town (such as Thai Mookata Sungai Long and Thai Hot Mookata Jalan Danau Niaga), this place offered no side dishes. It’s a blatant case of prioritizing profit over fair business practices—utterly disappointing.

Hidden Costs (Extra Charges for Dessert) We were appalled to discover that desserts were not included in the buffet and had to be paid for separately.

While I respect every restaurant’s right to set its own pricing and business model, serving questionable cooking equipment and exploiting customers with unfair pricing tactics is simply unacceptable.

With a heavy heart, I have to rate this place 2 out of 5.

I won’t be returning, and I sincerely urge the Health Ministry to investigate the food safety practices of this...

What I liked about this restaurant: The food variety was great with different marinated pork filets and chicken filets. I particularly liked the lemongrass flavored chicken filets since they were really good. And there were plentiful choices of green leaves and mushrooms. We took the RM 39.90/person buffet set plus service charge. For the price and the unlimited food ordering within two hours, I'd say this was awesome! This buffet set excluded drinks but included ice cream. The ice cream quality for this price was great too. The service was great as well since the waiters would come often to collect used tissue papers and plates. And they offered to exchange the grilling tray once for you for free.

Suggestions for this restaurant: We spotted some kangkung leaves which have already turned dark and mushy. There was quite unpleasant for us. The waiter accidentally dropped some blood water onto our table and splashed it into an ice cream while cleaning the table. I personally would prefer the cleaning afterwards as this could mess up with our dining. The grilling tray is made of aluminium and it could easily get burned. So, it was quite messy to eat with this kind of BBQ tray.

All in all, it was a nice dining place for affordable price. Would consider...

Sincere advice, just my personal POV, no offence.

Suggestion to place a washing basin for customer downstairs. As the toilet is on the first floor. Customers have to self remove the plastic wrap, and there's blood and water on the wrap. Very inconvenient. And there seems no toilet downstairs also, inconvenient for those can't climb stairs. No ice cream served as the fridge seems breakdown. Only Cordial Orange juice and plum juice available. Food ordered but never serve, waited 30min. Saw other tables were served. Then decided to reorder again. Mana tau they serve the previous order and new order, double triple kill terus..... Food was really average, as the pork slice is way too thick and dry. And alot of fats. The marinated pork is just normal pork slice with some "marinating sauce" on top. Not really wangi and well marinated. And some of the meat are still Frozen as i still can hear they singing "Let It Go"... So it's unlike M&M, it's melted on my hand and on my table..... Only bright side is the slightly suntanned lady staff that can speak mandarin, as she's patience and friendly.

Sorry just a piece of advice. Hope can be improved. As the other mookata near roundabout is way more crowded than here. Hope your business...

Craving for an all you can eat and found this place as a reccomandation from others. Quite far away from the Center of KL, parking might get difficult during dinner but it's still accessible. Tried the Mookatha style Suki + grill. Was a rough start at first since we didn't know how to do it properly. But after an hour, we could cook our food properly and it was very delicious. The Tom Yum stock is very tasteful and thick. The vegetables are fresh and definitely compliments the stock. The chicken meat are average at best, but the regular pork and garlic pork are the highlight of the night. I recommend cooking it either golden brown or until bacon-like and dipping it into the broth afterwards for a crunchy but still tasty pork slice. Service is also terrific. Fast responses and the staffs are properly trained and will always help you whenever you ask them to either clean up the leftover plates or order more stuffs from the menu. Overall a very good Thai hotpot place to come to. Especially since the all you can eat only cost 40 Rm. 👍

A revisit to this place ever since last year they started operate, back then only able to visit night time due to work. This time, I'm going for Happy Hour time range, between 3pm to 6pm (available from Mon to Thurs, except PH), price for that happy hour is 29.90/pax with unlimited pork and chicken and steamboat ingredients. ### Pork bone soup will get extra charges, so you can choose to have clear soup or tomyam soup for free, I chose tomyam as it is great to have it with all the ingredients I choose. Each table also compliment with 1 melted cheese and ice cream per pax. Their dipping sauce are amazing, a mix of both green and red sauce gets you to heaven with a bit of kick. *DO* note that every packages they set did not include beverage, but currently they are doing promo of buy 1 free 1 on Thai tea before Sep 2023, the employees there will guide you through the process to get them. My total spending did not went over RM 40 including drinks, so I think it is a good deal for me.
