Food Review: Authentic Kampung Flavors with a Homely Touch
Tucked away in a quaint, kampung-style setting, this hidden gem offers an exceptional dining experience that feels both nostalgic and satisfying. Surrounded by traditional wooden decor, the warm breeze, and the sound of nature, the ambience truly transports you to the heart of a peaceful village.
The Food: Nyonya 酸辣鱼 This dish is the highlight of the meal. The fish is cooked to perfection, with tender, flaky meat that pairs beautifully with the sour and spicy gravy. The balance of flavors is spot-on—tangy and zesty, with just the right amount of heat to awaken your taste buds. Truly a dish that opens your appetite (开胃) and keeps you coming back for more. 番薯苗 Freshness at its best! The sweet potato leaves are incredibly vibrant and served in a generous portion. They are cooked just right, preserving their natural sweetness and crunch. This simple yet flavorful vegetable dish adds a healthy balance to the meal. 炸Sotong Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the fried sotong is a real treat. The batter is light and perfectly seasoned, enhancing the squid’s natural flavor without overpowering it. It’s a must-order dish for seafood lovers. Guava Juice The guava juice is a unique addition to the meal, made from guavas grown right on the premises. Freshly squeezed and naturally sweet, it’s the perfect refreshment to complement the meal. Knowing it’s home-grown makes it all the more special.

Food selection is minimum as there are limited choices from the menu. Style of cooking is not able to alter, have to strictly follow the menu. Eatery provides dessert menu as well beside drinks option.
Big group of diners - 10 pax was allocated with long table. This creates an issue of sharing the dishes as plates have to be passed around. Would be better if a round table is provided.
Taste of the food is subjective and I would rate it as passable or normal. The service is generally fine and cutlery, sauces are all...
