This is our usual go to place for ikan Bakar, especially when other places are crowded. The restaurant is big with plenty of seating. Problem is, a lot of table was left with dirty dishes and no worker seems bothered to clean it up. It seems like the restaurant doesn't have enough manpower to support the customer during peak hour such as weekends or holidays season. So, we have to clean it up ourselves.

Upon ordering, we have to wait for more than an hour before we receive our food, and it wasn't the complete order, end up we have to go to the kitchen and pick it up ourselves. Maybe the management should consider changing to self service and lower their price if they can't maintain their manpower.

If you are planning to go here, just remember to self service, don't expect to be served like other ikan...

Came here the second time with the family, which was on the 3rd day of Raya.

Food tasted less than satisfactory compared to the first time I came. Ordered butter prawns, that was poorly executed and looked more like prawns cooked in butter oil. The stingray was overpriced and I think I was cheated. I chose two big fish that would cost max RM30 in KL but was charged RM55.

The problem with these kind of places is that there is NO Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for food preparation and cooking. It depends on the mood and the skills of the cook. If you want consistency, go to well established seafood restaurant. This one is another dissapointing...

There are better places to go if you’re craving for delicious seafood to be honest. Cleanliness needs to be significantly improved. Some of seafood on display weren’t even fresh so we only ordered 3 dishes to be on the safe side; which is the ikan bakar, kangkung belacan and butter prawns. Everything was awful. The ikan bakar had a decent smoky flavour but the sauce on top ruined it , feels like eating smoky fish with bottled tomato sauce. Place wasn’t crowded at all, we went around 7pm. The restaurant really needs a deep clean, qualified cooks who know what they’re doing and better...

You simply cannot seperate Melaka from ikan bakar (or grilled fish). Looking for an ikan bakar restaurant in Melaka is never difficult although it could be a daunting task as there are so many interesting ones. One of the best is of course Ikan Bakar Hj Musa. The seafood here are not only fresh, the prices are also quite reasonable. With a wide array of choices, you will definitely be spoilt for choice. Just choose what you like and how you want it to be cooked. The restaurant is quite big and as such, you need not worry about it being crowded, although the crowd can be large at times.

The environment is an average food court style with a view of fishing river and fishing boat along the food court. This is quite interesting unless you don't like the smell. It is kind of self-service of ordering foods. The only service is the order will deliver by them. The rice has been served too soon before the Ikan Bakar arrived and it was dried and cold at the end of the meal. The fish is fresh but the sambal is not my type, a bit sweetern for me, not spicy and not appetizing at all. The price is really reasonable. Not recommended and no next time.
