Ikan Bakar Muara Sg Duyung — Restaurant in Malacca

Hey guys! Solarance here and today I’m gonna share my experience eating at this joint called “Ikan Bakar Muara Sg Duyung located in Melaka… so here I go! And hope you find my review helpful 👍🏻

1- We ordered 2 fish.. one which was boiled siakap and the other one was Jenahak sweet sour… both are LIT AS HELL!! Amazingly flavourful, tender and sweet meat of heavenly taste! Best dish of the day and i find it hard to find fault in this dish. Well done! 5/5

2- we also ordered my favourite appetiser called the Black clams… the juice that comes with it lacks flavour of that lemongrass flavour though so the clams are a bit bland.. but that’s not it, while I was enjoying it for 1 minute, I started tasting bad clams :( almost half of them are bad.. so it made my dinner less enjoyable… sadly I’ll rate this 2/5

3- This place definitely has life! It’s busy busy busy! If you wanna dine here, make sure you come around 6 ish for dinner or u mah risk having to wait in a long LONG queue 😭. View is nice but flies everywhere though haha… since it’s outdoor so it can’t be helped…

4- the CRABS! ARE AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS AND FRESH! You can tell from my caps that I really enjoy the crabs.. the sambal is flavourful, just the right amount of spice and the meat of the crabs are delicious! 5/5 for this!

5- price wise, not bad really… I got a full meal fit for 4-5 people and I only paid RM 300 ish… pretty worth it!

Will definitely try and come again if I ever drive to Melaka again!

Came all the way from shah alam since my wife just love the sotong goreng tepung here, also we had garlic prawn, cencaru bakar, kailan ikan masin, telur dadar, drinks plus cendols for dessert all together only rm94.60 for 2 persons very fair price for seafood menu id say..but the dipping sauce need to be improved ie the sambal kicap is not kick enough for those who prefer spicy sauce like us or perhaps they can make an option like the northern style air asam.. table turn over is done very fast by their staffs which could be in a more polite manner by minimizing the noise during the process since there are other customers still dining next to the table n chairs that they are clearing..no warm smile or welcoming greet by the receiving staff at the restaurant entrance just simply asking "how many person..?" after we've done our mysejahtera check in then just directing patrons to the table write the table number on a piece of paper tell u to proceed to the seafood counter to choose your desired menus that's it..food was prepared n deliverd to our table rather quick i say.. overall for this place its okey..but with plenty of room for improvements.. hopefully the owners...

Do not go to this place if it is during the public holiday or weekends, IF you are not making any reservations beforehand or you’ll be queuing for 50 minutes just to get the seats and another 25 minutes just to choose the seafood.

Price - Kinda reasonable for the choices of seafood (compare to the competitors in Malacca)

Cleanliness - 2/5. Dont go to the toilet, hold on to your business until you are done eating or you’ll have a glance at the kitchen. Yummy.

Food - For that price? I would say ok. Imagine they have to prepare thousands of dishes in a small period of time, quality is not really there, but edible.

Staff & Services - I would say friendly but they are too busy handling tonnes of customers and would not immediately entertain your request of...getting the extra sauce for the ikan bakar? You’ll get them after you finished eating.

I know it’s a local “small” scale restaurant but I think the customers deserves the rights of getting the receipt, instead of...looking at the cashier punching out the calculator and boom! RMXXX.XX ??! Your business are growing up, please upgrade the...
