Restoran Ikan Bakar Parameswara — Restaurant in Malacca

To give a proper introduction, Umbai in Melaka is famous for fresh grilled fish, don’t order any steam fish here! Steamed fish is not their specialty. Parameswara Ikan bakar is located in pernu, Umbai. I’ve tasted the one in Alai, and compared both, although the Alai ones are on par, they do not have such a big restaurant compound like Parameswara. However what amazes me here is the number of seats they have, one rectangular table can have more than 20 chairs easily.

When you enter this place, the parking is free, once you enter the compound of the shop you’ll notice some of the tables already have the setting of plates and glass, it means that the table is already taken. So you would need to take down whichever table number that you like for you to proceed with the order.

The varieties of fishes available, its A Lot! Just take a look at the jenak fish, flower crabs, stingray fish etc. Its amazing.

I ordered jenak fish, it weighs about 1.8kg, total of the meals including rice and a fruit plate is about RM100. Make sure if you have a big fish like this, split the fish into half and request for two flavors. You can Order a normal usual grilled fish without gravey plus a sambal chili gravey grilled fish. Order a few nasi lemak, it pairs the grilled fish nicely.

Another thing good about this shop is that they offer credit card payment, and they even accepts AMEX - American Express cards from Maybank. You rarely get this in a small kampung selling fish. It just make it easier to enable a larger crowd to dine in here. Thumbs up 👍🏻👏🏻

Now about the seating arrangements, if you are bringing a crowd of more than 10 person, you can either come earlier at about 6:30pm or call them up to reserve a spot for you. The view towards Pulau is spectacular during sunset. And for smokers, you are allowed to smoke on top of the sea near the mangrove trees. Very kampung but i like it.

As an appetizer i suggest you to skip the fruits plates as i don’t think you’ll ever need fruit slices, just save some space for grilled fish. You may order some fried floured cuttle fish to accompany your grilled fish.

Key points: Amex payment/ visa credit card/ master credit card payment available. Large Enough space for big crowds 20 person, company events. Good view during sunset Organized order system and flexibility of splitting one fish to multiple flavors. Nasi Lemak is available with sambal to pair with the grilled fish. Boat seats are available. Good turnover time, order to table is approx 15 minutes.

P/s: you may see a muscular guy at the fish ordering counter if you’re lucky. I guess he may be the reason why the ladies like to get their...

It's been a while...this is not my first time coming here. Not much changing, only they extend the dining place over the mangrove area. Still the crowds was crazy. Full house. Fully loaded. Jadi sila lah beratuqq semuaaa

Wanted to test the ikan pari but finished. Proceed with Squids, Prawns, Siakap, mix vegetables plus some omelette. Fresh orange untuk bilas LOL. Nasi lemak sedap. Sotong goreng tepung sedap yg lain beshe beshe je lah. Tunggu agak lama sebab ramai kan tapi takpalah, sedia maklum cuti sekolah dan full house.

So you guys make sure to have your table number ready when you do the mix and match for your menu. They will weigh everything and ask what kind of cooking you like. They have more than 200 dining table guys. So even on public holidays you still can have your dinner here.

They also have rojak buah, cut fruits and such inside. I guess they were renting the premises from the owner. Thus, pay on the spot.

Vast parking area, so no parking issue. But the toilet abit sad. Not only dirty but not maintained properly. Dunno about the surau tho. Hope the management can take serious consideration onto this issue. Cleanliness is very, very, very important. Eventho the guess maybe don't mind but it reflects your attitude regards to hygiene. Wont cost you much to built a proper toilet, at least to revamp. Ask your daughter or anybody to do the designs, and invest your money into it. Believe me, Allah will give you the most rewards because cleanliness is very important in Islam.

Will i come again? Maybe, but not in this near future lah. Why? Guess I just have to try another place, and seek the better offering, more tasty and cleaner than this place.

This place has always been my family’s choice whenever we want to eat Ikan Bakar at Melaka. If anyone asks me where is the good place to eat Ikan Bakar, Ill recommend this place. We have always go here ever since I was a child.

We went here on Saturday night, I recommend to come here before 8.30pm to park near to the restaurant. If you are Muslim, you can come here early and pray at the surau provided here to save time if youre coming from somewhere far like Ayer Keroh.

We have always made a reservation before coming here in order to save time choosing the food as well as waiting for the food to be cooked. Whenever we come here, the food wil already be served and we can straightaway eat them without having to wait.

Everything tastes good, hence why we have repeatedly come here and thus the recommendation to others. One dish deserved the special mention is the sotong goreng tepung ✨ chef kiss ✨ please order sotong goreng tepung if you came here. Its never enough regardless of how many kgs we ordered.

Anyway, I really recommend this place but it is quite hot if theres no wind and theres lot of people. Better to get a table beside the parking lot, not in the middle, so youll get the wind from outside. We got a table facing the sea, it is quite hot, so better to bring a small fan if you dont...
