皇来美食阁 Restaurant Huang Lai — Restaurant in Negeri Sembilan

Been to this place multiple times but it has always disappointed me effortlessly. Came here multiple times as its convenient for me but at this point, Im not even thinking of giving this place a chance anymore. Previously we encountered an issue where we had a few orders however one wmof it was not being served yet none of the waiter came to inform. We asked the waiter multiple times, they kept saying that the kitchen is preparing? We waited for about 45mins then only the food came. We decided to close one eye on this. Another time was we had one order but we waited for ages and decided to ask the waitress, then only they came to us saying the item is not available. We waited there for so long, for nothing? Anyway, today we ordered our set lunch however the item that came was different. We asked and the response was because its not available today so they switched the item. I personally think they could have inform us about it before serving the dishes, so that we could have ordered something else. It is very unprofessional for assuming that customers will be okay with receiving another dish rather than the one that is being ordered. And here's for blonde hair girl at the cashier with a very bad attitude. I was telling her about how they could improve and should have informed us when the item from the set lunch we ordered is not available instead of changing it without informing us beforehand. There may be some communication needed between the kitchen and the waitress. She wasn't very pleased and asked 'how would you like to settle this then?' And during the conversation at the counter, its very rude that they were not attentive and keep serving other customer for paying the bill. The manager even told the girl she should next time better communicate with the kitchen staff but she talked back to the manager and kept blaming us instead and even said “how was I suppose to know this was happening”. I doubt this is the first time this type of issue arise as I read in the other google review comments that it had happened many times to others as well. Gave this place chances for 7 times, and came back with 6 disappointments. This is where my patience ends with this place. Please give a proper training for your workers especially mannerism. No doubt the food is is pricey compared to a lot of places, the food and portion do not justify the prices and should’ve been compensated with great service and environment. The restaurant is bright and inviting. We decided to try it for the Dim Sum. We were disappointed.

There was absolutely nothing special about any of the items we chose. In fact, the eggplant was quite greasy and oily. We felt the food was overpriced for the quality.

We may go back to try their a la carte menus, but cannot recommend...
