We were really looking forward to this experience whilst staying at Berjaya Resort. The setting, the views and even the past reviews made us excited.

On the night we arrived, I estimate that there were on 20-30 people and certainly 2/3 of the tables were empty.

It took so long for anyone to come and grab a drinks order off us! We needed to flag someone down. We ordered all entrees and mains and drinks at the same time.

We sat at the front of the bar and we were able to witness the chaos which would unfold.

Piles of glasses accumulated on the bar with one lonely bar man trying to keep up with drink orders and cleaning the glasses. He was very slow in making drinks which meant the dirty glasses just kept piling up.

It took 1hr for our first round of drinks to come out! When they came out I asked for another round but they never actually arrived.

Food eventually came out 2hrs after we arrived! You know, I’m ok with slow service if someone keeps checking in on us and taking drink orders. However, no one ever came by and offered us drinks or to see how we were doing. This is an expensive restaurant and I would expect this level of service.

When the meals came out we were so underwhelmed!! Very small and very poor quality. For example, the fried rice is better at breakfast at the resort than this restaurant! I ordered stir fried scallops in hot sauce. The meal was small, and I couldn’t even taste the chilli.

It’s so disappointing because the rest of the resort is great.

Overall, I just can’t recommend this restaurant. Eat at the other restaurants in the resort or simply just get a Grab and go get some better quality food elsewhere.

I also spoke to the manager about our experience and unfortunately we had no follow up interaction and hence...

Booked for dinner. They gave us table on left side where no other table was occupied. Whereas right side was fully occupied and covered area also had occupied tables. And we realised soon after we sat down the reason. There was a strong sea breeze and really hard to eat or even talk. Table covers keep flying (requested for extra hooks to keep them in place, got 1 hook where person can see 1 is not enough to hold all sides). Next we saw lot of sea birds just sitting nearby on some platform. (This really triggered some disgust since we don't intend to eat food next to so many birds with concern of bird attack at any moment). So we left immediately at this moment without ordering (we had spent 10 mins at table and almost decided what to order). Also to note in these 10 minutes no service person ever walk on that side of the platform. (40% of entire resturant seating is on left side). Even our table light was switched off (for all tables on left side). Wonder if they were saving some electricity or keeping the birds/insects away.

Then we got up and reached the entrance (waited another few minutes before someone noticed). Raised our concern, and got the reply "we dont generally allocate that side of the tables to anyone for such reasons "?? Then why did you allocate us. I thought maybe we were not Westerners so service quality is different for us.

At last she asked meekly if we would sit in covered area? I asked why they did not offer at first. And her reply is a smirk. Basically they did not want to "waste" good seats on asians, thats the only conclusion.

A restaurant operating for long, knowing wind etc are issues, does not do anything, have birds around raises questions about their hygiene.

Went in with such high hopes by reading reviews.Had visited Thailand last year.Forced my husband to have food there,we had already booked package so monetary amount was fixed.All we had to do was chosen the dishes.And damn what an ordeal.Had great food at the oriental pearl before so we're hyped up for this one.Never have I ever had such terrible murderous food(no I am not exaggerating).I had read a few bad reviews but never thought it through. We ordered the normal,mango salad(rare peanuts,sourest possible green mango)...here started the horror...chicken Tom yum(stinky raw...feared food poisoning even being Indian🤣😆).Everything we touched or tried to eat was slimy,stinky...for a while I even secretly thought they are being racist. The kick was mango sticky rice,like bad mangoes,less of the white adjunct and hard rice.🫠 After somehow washing down the food with alcohol...it had started raining My husband who had never suffered a food allergy in his lifetime got one.I being in the medical profession had antiallergic with me and hence could serve him. Please go and eat at your own risk.Please for the love of God carry antiallergics.I do not know how the owner of such a lovely resort has allowed this kind of deceit to run on.Someday you guys will have a legal case in your hands. If the staff is reading this,everyone is human guys,you have family too,think of bad karma and it might actually happen to you.I hope you know why bad things happened to you.Such a rant because of seeing my fit husband almost keeling from non existent allergy.pics are proof we were...
