The Woods by Benz — Restaurant in Penang

The restaurant from the outside is very bautiful like eating in the garden, but if you get a table inside it's like dining in a haunted house full of mosquito that will eat you alive. Jokes aside, the food is so so. If you order chicken, their chicken is small. If you order their beef, their beef is dry and tough like rubber. Ordered chicken parmigiana and smoked beef plate. They used mushroom sauce for the chicken parmigiana which is confusing since chicken parmigiana usually used marinara sauce. Instead of getting a ''cheesy tarik" that had been described in their menu, you get a runny cheese sauce. And the worst is their smoked beef. Baik makan serunding. So charred and dry. The worst part is when chewing the beef, so tough man! I thought my life is tough, but this beef is even tougher. Both set comes with fries and "salad". If you consider raw cabbage and raw carrot are your favourite salad, here is the place to enjoy it. And they put mayonnaise on the salad, ta-daa!! I try to have a positive mind and thought maybe it is Ramadan, they are tired and can't taste the food while cooking. Don't get me wrong, the food is edible but not enjoyable. Tak nak...

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was a huge disappointment and a waste of money. The service was terrible, the food was mediocre, and the hygiene was appalling. Here are some of the issues I faced:

The drinks took more than 30 minutes to arrive, and the food was even slower. The restaurant was overhyped because of some viral post, but the environment was nothing special. They did not have air conditioning, and the toilet was dirty and scary. They also had gaps in the stalls where people could peep easily. The food was average for a western restaurant, but the price was too high. The plates were also cracked and the portions were small. They forgot some ingredients in our dishes and had to redo them. They also did not provide us with plates, forks, and knives for our large platter. When we asked for new plates, they just wiped the dirt with some cloth and gave them back to us. One of your female staff was rude to my family when serving food and when I'm requesting change of plate

Utterly disappointed with the quality of food here. Starting from all smoke menu is unavailable which left with very little choices. Already feel bumm out. I order lamb grill and once again disappointed because the lamb is so liat and have weird aftertaste, I spend way too much time menguyah sebab liat .the mushroom gravy i think is way too much tepung and taste plain. Jimat barang mentah orang kata. Tak rasa like a proper sauce for that price . Tak balance langsung.Potion wise boleh diterima la. For lamb grill kenyang la.Coleslaw way too runny and meh. Salad is okay but a hint of orange sauce is not compatible. Way too masam and overwhelming. Chocolate belgium drinks is mid. To me biasa2 je. At least tak rasa coklat murah tapi the balance of taste mmg kelaut la. Need to improve of food quality. Fry pon biasa je. Fortunately fry sampai rangup and suam2 . Chicken chop pon same.
