Hong Kong Oil Chicken & Roast Duck — Restaurant in Perak

The taste of the roasted duck used to be the best, but over the years, it has regressed alot. But overall, the roast duck, roast pork is still considered good. What really doomed thier business really is thier hospitality and cleaniness. Both the female and male boss are super arrogant and rude. All the while i still visit this restautant once in a while, but after what happened during my last visit was the last straw.

I was going to indulge on the ''sour vege'' 酸菜 when i felt a mushy and stale taste in my mouth so i immediately spit it out. Lo and behold, the special texture came from a big chunk of newspaper cooked along with the whole pot of sour vege. When the boss was notified, they simply took the whole dish away and offered us another plate of that damn sour vege without any feeling of remorse or apologetic.

The roasted ducks are considered okay. But, the rest of the food we ordered last week were terrible. Very thick roasted pork skin (not crunchy), BBQ pork (honestly, the bbq pork from a wan ton mee is even better than theirs), braised chicken feet with tofu (tofu is too hard and tasteless), spicy sour mustard vegetable (酸菜) - the vege is too fiberous and the soup tastes like ketchup. Also, the white rice is hard too (like overnight rice from fridge). The feedback may be harsh, but it's my honest review. If it is not my relatives want to eat here, I won't come...

The shop are famous for roasted ducks, chicken, pork and char siew. Tried the roasted duck, pork and char siew. The roasted duck taste delicious, with thick and succulent meat. The skin are well roasted and slightly crunchy, yet not so oily. The roasted pork and char siew are of average taste. The chai boey （一品锅）taste good, and the shop are not stingy to give a lot of salted vege on the serving.
