Not quite sure what the draw was with this place other than it is a convenient spot to grab a quick meal before making the long and twisty drive up to Cameron Highlands.

Service was below average, with the captain not really interested in explaining much about what their specialty was. No menu was offered and she just lazily asked what we wanted and didn't really offer much in return when we tried to ask further on what fishes they have and would recommend for a small party of us.

Food was really tasteless and just good enough to fill your stomach and nothing else.

Soya Sauce Fried Fish: Bawal was quite fresh but gingered soya sauce lacked punch and you can tell no effort was made when you see how they just randomly threw in (literally) 2 pieces of tiny lettuce. The provided soya sauce was too little for all of us.

Sambal Petal Prawns: Severely lacking in any flavour and almost no sambal. Not recommended

I would give this shop a miss as you will probably leave...

We came here for dinner on 3rd Nov after sn unsuccessful drive to reach Horbitton Village via Tapah access point. We came to this restaurant with a local who frequent this place and have been to the restaurant before. We were rewarded with exceptional food, excellent customer service with patience and knowledgeable staff. Atmosphere was bustling and yet the staff were accommodating and attentive to our needs. Food: Exceptional, good quality and good value for money. Recommend Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs, Steam Fish, 3 Kings Egg, Claypot Tofu, Sweet and Sour Pork (kids love this dish!) Service: 6 stars out of 5. Attentive to our needs, very accommodating and also very aware of health and safety of our children in a hot food and beverage environment. Atmosphere: great! I certainly would recommend any passers by to Cameron Highlands via Tapah access point to come to this restaurant to...

Firstly, dont mistakenly this restaurant to the other 2 restaurants tht serve fresh water prawns. They dont serve fresh prawns tht is swimming and catched alive. They only serve frozen prawns. The owner is very honest and inform me upfront so tht we r aware of wht we r ordering. Yet, the prawns is ok but as expected it is not as good as the other restaurant and i m ok.... The real specialty of this restaurant is the steam fresh water fish. I have tried the catfish called 红猫尾that is extremely good. The meat is sweet, bouncy and fresh. The gravy source is also not overly salted. It is also reasonablely cheap at the cost of rm80 per kg for wild catch fish. Highly recommended if u r looking for fresh water fish instead of prawn...

Decent food at somewhat reasonable prices. Being close to the highway, it’s a popular stop for travellers on the North South Expressway and also tour groups. Food quality has been somewhat impacted due to the large number of customers at peak hours. Food is generally decent quality, although taste can vary. Sotong with Petai; Butter Prawns; Kung Po Frog; Sweet Potato Leaf with garlic; Hot Plate Taufoo; Honey Chicken were all satisfactory. The star was the Soon Hock fish plain steamed with soy sauce. The fish was very fresh (swimming in the tank) and had a lovely sweetness. Well executed and Recommended. Fresh jackfruit may be on sale in the shop - if you see it, do try it as it’s very sweet. Great as an appetiser or dessert.
