Tonight, I was debating where to have dinner, and this place came to mind because I passed by the area a few weeks ago. I’ve noticed shredded chicken noodle soup spots popping up more often in Ipoh lately, so my mom and I decided to give this one a try.
I have to say, the food here really impressed me. We ordered two bowls of chicken shredded noodles, a plate of vegetables, braised chicken feet, and chicken gizzard. The soup was fragrant and generous—unlike many places in Ipoh town. The noodles were silky, and it was easily one of the best bowls of shredded chicken noodles I’ve had for dinner. The vegetables, braised chicken feet, and gizzard were equally good. The braised chicken feet were especially noteworthy—perfectly braised to the point where the bones practically fell off with a chopstick’s touch. The entire meal cost us around RM32, which felt like great value.
The service was exactly what you’d expect from a hawker stall—polite, fast, and efficient. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you need. The lively hawker atmosphere added to the charm.
The area is spacious, with plenty of tables and a good number of fans, making it comfortable to dine. It’s also remarkably clean, which definitely boosts confidence in the food safety here.
Overall, it was a very satisfying meal for this Ipoh local, and I’ll definitely...
Read moreFound this place by chance when searching for a place near Perak Cave to have lunch at. The reviews impressed me, so we came here to check it out and were not disappointed at all. Ordered the kuey teow soup, oil rice, chicken, beansprouts and cold barley and they were all fantastic. The soup was so tasty and full bodied I still dream about it. The chicken is tender enough, the oil rice is fragrant (but I still prefer the kuey teow soup over the oil rice), and the beansprouts medium portion for 5 pax was very generous. It tasted very sweet and fresh. I wanted to dapao more beansprouts back to eat as an afternoon snack but refrained. In fact, we had a similar dinner at another place the next day with higher google review ratings and were very sad when it failed to match up to this place.
Please visit this place for very reasonably priced fantastic ipoh chicken, beansprouts and kuey teow soup. I plan to make a last trip here to eat tomorrow before leaving Ipoh. Even my 7yo is asking to eat it...
Read moreMountaintop Bean Sprout 🐓 Rice restaurant or now known as MT Restaurant was opened for business since 15ᵗʰ Dec 2023. One of the famous food is the 🐓Kueyteow or known as “Kai Si Hor Fun”. The version served is closely rivaling the well known sold at Moon De Moon located at Hala Wah Keong, Taman Mirindy, Ipoh.
Let me start with the ⭐️ food: 🐓 Kueyteow. The noodle is silky smooth & the aromatic 🍤 oil is similar to the competitors. Portion is rather generous and the soup is very palatable & more than its competitor. However it lacks the creaminess. 2 pcs of full sized 🍤 was served unlike some where the 🍤 is sliced to half. Verdict: one of the better 🐓 kueyteow but still not the best that I’ve tasted.
The meatball & fishball is pretty good where the meatball is loaded with pieces of dried 🦑.
Drinks were pretty standard and nothing adverse about it.
There are many other food to explore and I may give further updates if I do patronise this place in...
