A popular dining spot with local Teluk Intan folk, this restaurant is a little out of the city centre. But the extra effort to get here will be rewarded with good food at reasonable prices. Service is impeccable with a good number of service staff on call. Food arrived fairly quickly. There’s an aircond section on the inside but the outer section was airy and comfortable too.
I really enjoyed the Crabs in Butter Sauce which is their signature style for cooking crabs. It was creamy and a little spicy too but the crabs were a tad small though. Finger licking good and Highly Recommended.
Kam Heong La La were good, with dried shrimp adding umami goodness. The Signature Braised Pork was a tad salty but still OK with rice.
The Signature Golden Brinjal was a joy; fried until crispy and fluffy, the brinjal was topped with meat floss for a light but tasty dish.
Fried freshwater prawn (udang galah) was fresh and fried well. The sauce coating the prawns were tasty with bits of dried prawn lending umami flavours. A little expensive but Highly Recommended.
Kung Po Mantis Prawns were reasonably priced and is a great alternative to prawns. This fish was almost perfect - crunch flour coated mantis prawn pieces in a slightly spicy Kung Po sauce. Perfect with rice. Highly Recommended.
The Claypot Braised Shark was a little sour and spicy. Another dish that pairs well with plain rice.
Tofu in Pumpkin Sauce was smooth and tasty. Recommended as well. This paired very well with the Rice with Pork Lard.
Prices were very reasonable. After 2 visits, it’s my favourite restaurant in...
Read moreLocated at the corner with a Big Tree in front filled with Red Lantern. There is both indoor air-con and indoor open-air seating. The food here is surprisingly tasty vs. KL Chinese restaurants. They are so far the only restaurant who nailed it right in cooking shark meat as you can see clearly and eat the shark meat chunk and the strong gravy (asam slice with dry chilli but not spicy) that goes with it, compliments the meat perfectly; other restaurants in Tg Sepat (Fried) & Sekinchan (Black Sauce) fail as the meat is not really obvious, tougher and bland. However better dishes are the Kam Heong Crab meat and salted egg mini octopus. Interesting sihes here are their Salad Chicken with green sauce, yellow cream tofu, vege with fresh dried mini prawns. The 3 layer meat with yam is below average as the taste doesn't stands out. parking is...
Read moreRead moreWe ordered XL crabs which the waitress said was on promo at RM88/kg. She said 2 XL crabs will be around 1.2kg+. When the dish came, the crabs looked like ~300g+ each & definitely NOT above 500g each! When paying the bill, I complaint that the 2 crabs were small & not 500g type like I ordered, the lady boss said “we cannot give the exact weight”! When I asked what’s the weight of the 2 XL crabs which we ordered, she couldn’t show us the calculation. This is cheating & short changed the customers! IF u tell us RM88/kg then u shld give the exact weight we ordered & NOT charged us much higher for lesser weight! Won’t recommend this restaurant & we certainly won’t...
