We first came across Matang seafood porridge in JB. And we liked it a lot so we've gone back many times. Wifey wonders if it'll be even better in Matang. After all, the dish bears the name of this village.
We arrived at 530pm and there were several tables already eating or waiting for their food. And it does take a while for food to be prepared. So come only if you can wait. While waiting for our food, the place gradually filled to full so it's advisable to come early.
The dining space is typical rustic setting and open air under corrugated sheets. There are plenty of ceiling fans so it didn't feel too warm. There's gonna be flies buzzing about too.
There's no menu so don't ask for one like we did. Seafood porridge is the star here so you'll be asked what you want inside it. Especially their clams, I like how it is cooked and always can’t get enough of it. The spicy squid was pretty good as well. It has a good kick to it while still tastes pretty amazing.
The prawns were alright, but I’m not a very big fan of prawns in the first place. The sauce with the fish is a pretty good combo, and it tastes really fresh.
All of the dishes here are seasoned well and pair well with white rice and I highly recommend...
