first and foremost, when we entered the waiter asked us if we want to sit at the back or front so we answered front and since we are quite big of a family he said he will combine the two tables. Do take not, we do not insisted for the table to be combined or to sit there, we just simply answer his question. He was the one who combined it so we just sat and ordered.
But after that, another waiter came and said “siapa suruh gabung meja?”, we just said that another waiter did. Suddenly he asked us to move to the back because he said the tables cannot be combined. So we complied to it and just moved. Then, he sat us at the back with table that is slanted and near the toilet which was very unpleasant to say to be having a meal next to the loo. When the owner came to serve the food, we complained saying how the waiter was rude about it and how he can just explained to us nicely. But to the contrast, she replied that her waiter said that we were the one who insisted on it. We were flustered by it when we didn’t even insisted at the first place.
We could have make a big scene but we didn’t, but that was rude of him and for her to say such things. There were no apologies from them at all. That is some common sense and courtesy for you as people who work in the fnb industry. The food was so so and judging by their service, I definitely wouldn’t return to their shop at all. Very rude and not customer friendly. The food such as Mee Kari that I ordered, didn’t even consist of the basic things such as tauge and boiled egg. It was just full of instant foods like the ones in Yong Tau Foo, which is not what Mee Kari supposed to be like.
Overall, wouldn’t recommend to come here for a meal at all due to their horrible...
Read moreFirst time eating here, food taste good. But the mi kari must be eaten straightaway, if left it will become salty. The kari ayam from roti benggali kari ayam itself i love it, it doesnt taste too lemak nor too salty, wish they can have roti jala in their menu.
They are very considerate for placing chairs outside for queueing customers.
However some staff are rude, need more training for basic customer training and educate some common sense.
Situations: The staff accidentally spilled the eggs from roti telur goyang for other tables on our feet while serving the table, no apologies given despite seeing it happen and made eye contact. She panicked and proceeded ran away and asked other staff to clean the mess. However, after panicking, there is no apologies given.
Missing orders for our tables, the other foods served except for 2. We asked in case it was missed. The staff went to kitchen and checked, came with another staff, to explain that it is due to change of tables. We changed tables upon payments as recommended and agreed with the cashier and serving staff. The staff in charge already change table number on our receipt and informed the kitchen. Other foods served correctly except for 2 only. If it is due to change of table, how did other foods served with no confusions?
We proceed showing our receipts and showing one by one food on our table, the staff just get annoyed and rolled her eyes before she left. Was it necessary? No. Any apologies? No. Admit own mistake? No.
The food is good, but some staff really needs some training and education in terms of...
Read moreSo so food, (with some dishes to the exception), with serious looking staff. I get it their clientele is huge, on unfortunate days the queue will expand to the main road, and sometimes to entertain eager guests I found myself queueing as well. But I suspect the real reason the huge crowd isn't because of the food or service, but more towards its ingenuity (somehow a rare treat for Malay breakfast that opens early AND that serves viet coffee). The food ranges from easy breakfast, of steamed or toasted benggali bread, carbonara spaghetti, roti titab. But to be fair, the bread is done right, fluffy and warm, the chicken portion of the curry is abig chunk, the curry is fresh, fragrant and thick, carbonara isn't from a can and the coffee, especially the one ranging from Vietnamese origins are the real deal breaker. I will brave the crowd for Suhaimi cafe's culi arabica (but no, not for kacang pool. That one we all can skip. Too dry. If you scroll the reviews saying the kacang pool is good, i suspect they haven't tried the Larkin kacang pool.) Kids and friends love the place, that being said not the parents, it's a struggle to keep kids from spilling unto the next table as the place is not only small, but cramped. The service is fast enough to cater the in going customers, they are efficient, and sharp but do not expect warm smiley chatty servers. A good place to bring your guests,if they can wake up early to defeat all other...
