On a cold weekend morning, we decided to kickstart our day with a good cup of coffee, and Kopitok seemed like the perfect place. It’s easy to find with ample parking space, although the seating area is quite limited.
We were initially excited to try their variety of coffee from different beans, but unfortunately, it wasn't available at the time. Nevertheless, we went ahead and ordered a few items to sample what they had to offer.
I tried their Ice Kopi Kampung, a local-style Americano made from locally sourced beans. It was a bold, eye-opening brew with a nice soury aftertaste — just the right punch you need on a sleepy morning. We also had the Light Milk Kopi Kampung, which offered a richer and creamier profile, and it was equally delightful.
For food, we had the Nasi Lemak Pandan Ayam Berempah. It left us with mixed feelings: the pandan coconut milk rice was steaming hot, wonderfully fragrant, and had a great texture. The sambal leaned on the sweeter side with a hint of tomato, which might not be for everyone but was still enjoyable. The anchovies were perfectly crispy without being too hard — a big plus. What stood out was the generous amount of cucumber slices served on the side, a rare sight compared to the usual token pieces at most places. Thumbs up for that!
We also tried their Roti Tabur Daging Cheese, which is their take on Roti John (or Roti Hong Kong as known in Penang). It featured a fluffy, local-style ciabatta topped with minced meat, melted cheese, and a drizzle of hot house sauce for some zest. A side of sweet kaya and a soft-boiled egg broken over the top completed the dish. Not bad at all — creative and satisfying.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast experience at Kopitok. It’s a cozy spot with good coffee and creative local dishes. We’ll definitely be back. Highly...
Read moreFinally had the chance to stop by Kopitok Kangar for breakfast — a café I usually just drive past, as it rarely opens on Sundays. Recently, they’ve started operating on Sunday mornings, which is great news for breakfast lovers looking for something unique and satisfying.
Their breakfast menu revolves around a creative variety of toasted breads paired with a selection of tasty side dishes. You’ll find toast served with soft-boiled eggs, meaty toppings like beef and cheese, sardines, and even sweet options like kaya butter and chocolate. Each dish is crafted with a modern twist while still preserving familiar, comforting flavours.
The ambience is chill and aesthetic, making it an ideal spot to hang out with family or friends. The smell of freshly brewed coffee, the sound of bread toasting, and the friendly service all enhance the dining experience. If you’re in Kangar on a Sunday morning, Kopitok should definitely be on your...
Read moreKopi Tok is a small breakfast and brunch cafe that serves simple but really delicious food. The menu isn’t big, but everything we tried was full of flavour and worth coming back for.
We had the Nasi Lemak Ayam Kunyit, Roti Bakar and Gulai Ayam, and Roti Tabur Daging with egg, cheese, and fries. All were tasty, especially the nasi lemak — the sambal and turmeric chicken were great! But would love to try their Ayam Goreng Berempah.
Prices are reasonable, and the portions are just nice. They also have a good selection of drinks. I especially loved the Teh Tarik — smooth and just the right sweetness.
If you’re looking for a simple place with good food and drinks, Kopi Tok is a...
