We came here at the recommendation of the snorkeling guide (reads local).
Their specialty was the porridge, and we ordered one seafood porridge, one razor clams porridge and a chicken porridge. The guide highly recommended the salted egg bitter gourd which we ordered although the both of us are not a fan of bitter gourd. We had an additional order of dry noodles with fish after seeing other people having it.
Generally I feel the porridge is a bit too salty to my liking, not much ingredients as well... More porridge than the ingredients. The salted egg bitter gourd was tasty though, it was crispy and the salted egg covers the bitterness of the bitter gourd. The noodles was ok, normal but the fish were quite chunky and tasted ok.. not too bad.
The one I like most from what we had ordered was the 腐竹薏米水 (Barley bean curd skin drink). It was not too sweet, just nicely sweetened, thick enough and very very tasty!! It's what I like.
The place was crowded with people.. no queues as the turnover was quite fast. I don't mind to come back to try the other food that's in their...
Read moreThe previous evening..i went to buy a Mee Goreng Seafood in this restaurant. It was a take away. I loved it. It was delicious.
Tonight i went there again and ordered the same takeaway..but for 2 people.
Upon reaching home..i realized it was not the same like i had the previous night. It WAS NOT even FRIED. Let alone fresh. It was not even warm. It was precooked in hotwater..hours ago.. seasoned and left to settle in their big bowl like they would..morning streetfood. That noodle would have normally cost RM1.50 ..plain. It had 2 prawns and a few slices of fish meat that were tough.. like it was 2 days old. I paid RM14.50 for one serving. But since i bought 2, it was RM29.50.
I'll never go there again. Shop owner cheating. As if i could not tell...
Read moreFirst , the boss is out to con your money if you ask him to recommend. DON'T GO THERE! Completely horrible. Until i read the reviews now, i never realise that his porridge is good he never recommend, instead recommend some way overpriced dishes.
We spent RM 82 for a small plate of fried intestine (RM28), a plate of the chun chang (RM 18), a crocodile soup (RM 26), 2 drinks and a rice. It looks so measly that we didn't take any photo.
The food is horrible, over fried intestine, a small bowl of soup and the chun chang was not nice at all. Service isn't great, the sauces on the site seem to have been there for years.
We didn't know the cost, thinking that it shouldn't be more than RM 60. Until we settle the bill, it shocked...
