We headed to Siniawan for the evening and stumbled across The Post. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles and kindness. We sat at the bar and sampled local drinks with the owner Evangeline. She made us feel so comfortable and talked us through all the drinks they had and suggested some traditional food for us to try which was really tasty. She also talked to us about the local and Chinese traditions. She also went incredibly out of her way to help us get home to Kuching (we advise prebooking transport if you end up staying longer like we did - it massively appreciated) It really made our evening and if you are in Siniawan you have to go here and set aside some time to relax and enjoy the beautifully decorated space and chatting to the staff. We will be back to sample more of what they...

The spare ribs packed a wollop. Chunky, crispy and flavoursome. Eaten freshly deep fried is the way to enjoy them in my opnion.

The so-called Mee Apek should taste better if they were held together more by moisture than by oil. (Lard).

For MYR4 a can, do better than to clasp a straw on top of the coke can for table presentation.

Love the ambience. ID blends with the Chinese (hakka) heritage of Siniawan.

Menu spread suggests robust hakka country cooking coupled with native cooking offerings. The well-stocked bar should take you to imaginary places beyond the historical charm of this enclave.

Footnote: The Post takes its name from the last word of 'Siniawan Trading Post'. As it was known in the days of the first white rajah of Sarawak, Sir...

Amazing food! Mostly local families and that’s how you know the food is authentic. We had an absolute feast. Braised pork had the perfect amount of aromatics and sambal midin was one of the best we had in Kuching. Lastly the chicken soup with Iban sour eggplants was my most favorite of all with pleasant tanginess.

Great atmosphere and all the staffs were friendly as well. They even helped us book a car back to the city as there was no grab at all in the area.

I almost forgot to mention that they have varieties of Tuak as well! Pineapple and black sticky rice versions are so so good.

You simply cannot miss this place if you are looking for a hearty dinner at Siniawan...

This hidden gem serving authentic Hakka & Local Native Cuisine located at the 100 years Old Siniawan Town in Baú District about 20 Km from Kuching City - capital of Sarawak State , Malaysia is definitely worth considering if you are in Kuching. They have air conditioned Interior sitting and Open air Exterior sitting as well.Best Time to visit will be on Friday , Saturday and Sunday when the Night Market will start operating after 5 pm where you can visit the many Hawker Stalls selling variety of Local & Taiwanese Food.Portion of Food @ The Post is Generous and Price is Very reasonable. My Personal Favorite is the Fried Cucumber Leave & Fried Garlic Midin.Enjoy your Visit
