My friend and i have a good time to reunite after so long no see for each other.Even though that was a rainy day but we can still have fun and travel from Kuching to Bau town and then back to Kuching again. That time we have no idea where to go and what to do so..i give a little suggestion to show my hometown which is Bau town to my friend. And she said okay let’s go.Because my friend quite new with the road way to Bau town so finally we’re arrived after an hour from Kuching. After we spent time at Bau town and the weather (raining) still not let me down anyway. So i have one more place to go which is Siniawan, kinda old town place but it’s very nostalgic. From Bau town then we going to visit the Siniawan town. Finally i feel like it’s been for a while to come here and that day we going was on weekday no shops or night market.Luckily there’s one bar opened which is The Bikalan. You saved our day,and all kind of things like drinks, snacks and foods are served in The Bikalan. We order potato wedges with cheese,i can tell you the portion it’s worth for 2-3 persons, not forget i like the onion rings and ginger pork too.I like the crispy ginger pork and drink with the Roselle Tuak and it’s awesome.Love the atmosphere was so relaxed and comfortable.Friendly owner and good service. The price is fair and reasonable. The toilet is very clean and...
Read moreSiniawan is always a lovely weekend trip from Kuching, only about 30 minutes away for my wife and me. Whenever we go, The Bikalan is our must-stop. Andy and Grace are now friends, and that personal touch makes every visit special.
The place combines the cosy feel of a UK pub with the warmth of a Dayak eatery. This comes through in the menu, which features local native food and drinks, all served by friendly Bidayuh staff from the area. Bars or eateries like this are exactly the kind you look for when travelling, the ones that give you an authentic feel of the town and leave you with lasting memories. The Bikalan is one of the best examples you will find and a great representation of Kuching’s charm.
Siniawan continues to grow and they've just recently completed the construction of a nice waterfront area. The annual Chap Goh Mei and Country Music Festival (end of September) are the town's biggest events.
Tip: If you are visiting at night, plan your transport back in advance. Alternatively, Andy, Grace or any of the team are always...
Read moreWent there with my mum and dad. The owner said we must order both food and drinks in order to dine in but we already dine in. We brought over some foods from other stall and already dine in. I’ve purposely ordered to support The business as I dine in in this shop because I bring outside food. Ordered 3 guiness. I’ve asked the permission to dine in bringing outside foods from the staff and they allowed me to bring in. NOT LOCAL FRIENDLY ANYMORE. Thank you for ruining my mum and dad first time to your place. Next time approach customer regarding this matter in a better way of communication. Act friendly around tourist but not friendly around the local. I went there again recently and ordered fried rice with stew pork, I believe that’s the name. It’s stew pork from the canned. Meanwhile the price(too expensive)is like a homemade stew pork. Up your menu quality if you’re looking to having a lot customer to...
