Ulu Yam trip - Surround yourself with orchids

Our mini trip started with a visit to World of Phalaenopsis located in Batang Kali. I think that it was better to take the young ones to see more nature and greens for a change, rather than going to shopping malls or cafe hopping.

World of Phalaenopsis is a nursery selling orchids and only orchids. A magnet for plant lovers as well as those who come to this area on one day trip, you'll be surrounded by countless orchids as you step into the nursery.

Hidden inside the nursery is a cafe called The Florescence and it's also filled with potted plants and orchids all around. Serving fusion foods such as nasi lemak, asam laksa, chicken chop etc.

However we were still full from the earlier breakfast hence we didn't order any food item. Instead I just opted for a bottle of kombucha and basked in the natural sunlight in the cafe while spending some time walking around and admiring the...

This cafe stands out as one of the decent options in the area. In fact, there are only two cafes here that meet my standards for coffee and dessert quality, with the other being Kebun Cafe. This cafe is always my second choice when Kebun is unavailable. While the coffee here does taste better, the desserts are only average.

In addition to coffee and desserts, they also offer local delights like nasi lemak and various kuih. One of the highlights of this cafe is its lovely setting, with orchid flowers adorning the tables and surrounding the entire establishment, as it is located within a famous orchid farm. Not happy with the queue system as you will need to queue physically in front of their entrance to wait for seats. How difficult is it to implement a ticket queuing system? Some patrons do not bother to queue, though they have staff assigned at the entrance, but the guy will only ask who comes first, which this surely can be improved further. Also because everyone have to queue in front, the kitchen staff have to keep passing by us to bring in the food, as the kitchen is located outside and this is a hygiene issue to me. Other than this, everything is alright. Will I come again? Maybe yes, if there is no need to queue...
