I am regular customer for Itik Salai Masthar at Sg Ramal but this is my first time the HQ at Sg Merab. Here's the comparison between both: Space: Sg Merab is more spacious then Sg Ramal Menu: Sg Merab offers varities of menu to choose from smoked duck/fish/beef/chicken with yellow curry or kuah asam, deep fried chicken, asam pedas, soup, nasi ayam etc. While Sg Ramal only offers the smoked meat/fish with yellow curry dish or kuah asam and deep fried chicken. Price: Average spending of RM10-15/person Process flow: Sg Merab has a better flow of queing for the rice, ulam and dishes then queue for payment. While Sg Ramal's flow is unordered and chaotic as the payment counter is located in between the rice and dish counter. Other stalls: In Sg Merab there is Satay Willy Stall and Pineapple Juice/fruit stall. While Sg Ramal is located inside a food court (Medan Selera Adikku) and it has more food, drinks and dessert choices etc. Best time to go: Both branch are packed with people during lunch time. It is the best to go early, before 12pm. The portion of Itik Salai Masak Lemak at Sg Merab is lesser than Sg Ramal. I only get 2 chunks of meat and the rest are neck area, I don't think it is worth the RM7 that I spent. The portion at Sg Ramal is much more generous that...
Read moreI was here with some 10 friends for lunch. This is a self-service eatery and everyone just queue up and got their own food. The specilaty here is the Lemak cili api itik salai. As i do not eat itik, i took the daging salai instead. I had some nice, crispy tempe goreng, some ulam and sambal belacan. I had a bottle of the cold sugar cane water which is absolutely refereshing. Same with goes with the others with their own choice of main dish and side dishes. The place is big and parking is available at the front area. It is quite comfortable to have a quick lunch and not a place to linger for long. The price of food is...
Read moreBeen passing thru this place everytime I send my kid back to PLPP Sg Merab and finally decided to give this place a try. Parking is an issue here as the main road is narrow and the available parking spots is limited. Try to come early or later after peak lunch hour. Is the food worth it? Yup! The salai dishes tasted great and not pedas/spicy. There is a lot of options besides salai as there are smaller stalls selling other dishes and desserts. Price wise its really affordable hence explaning why there is always people stopping by. Wished I took more pictures, will revisit and try to get more...
