You know, sometimes you just crave seafood so fresh it practically winks at you from the plate, and for that, my friends, I recently found myself at South Sea Seafood in Subang, Malaysia.

Now, I’m not usually one to travel halfway across the globe for a prawn, but when the call of the ocean’s bounty is strong, a foodie answers. And let me tell you, South Sea Seafood delivered. First up, the Salt and Pepper Prawns – little crispy pockets of joy that snapped and crackled like a bonfire of pure flavour. Then came the Crispy Yam Basket, a golden fortress of delightful texture, followed by the Sizzling Bean Curd that arrived with a dramatic flourish and a flavour profile that was both comforting and intriguing. The Roasted Chicken was exactly what you want it to be – juicy, tender, and with a skin that whispers sweet nothings to your tastebuds.

But let’s be honest, we were here for the main event, and boy did it deliver. The star of the show, the dish that made me contemplate booking a return flight purely for its presence: the Stir-fried Crab with Black Pepper. I’m talking about a culinary masterpiece that had me tearing into it with the primal delight of a caveman discovering fire. Forget cutlery, forget dignity – this was a hands-on, face-first affair, and easily one of the best I've ever had. The Steamed Whole Grouper Fish was a vision of aquatic perfection, flaky and delicate, proving that sometimes, simplicity truly is king.

So, if you're ever in Subang and fancy a seafood feast that'll make your tastebuds sing, make a beeline for South Sea Seafood. You...

Best Seafood Restaurant so far. Halal but no cert since they serve alcohol.

Hygiene : 5 stars Food taste. : 5 stars Food Quality : 5 stars Ambience : 5 stars Parking. : easy Service : 5 stars Price : 5 stars

Very clean restaurant so no doubt My family n I are regular here so the food always 2 thumbs up! Before we always went to Port Klang to eat seafood, but here the food quality are ways better than Port Klang. Very unique n serene ambience. Make u want to sit longer n eat more. Parking is easy bcos they have 2 fronts parking n 1 big space for u to park at the back of the restaurant but u park in front laaa near to walk. Because we r regular so the service is better bcos the waiters already know us but from the first time we came to have dinner here the service was good also. Okay, if u always eat outside, let say TGIF or Tony Roma’s or Ole2 Bali or ThaiThai... the price here is cheaper n u can get fresh food with tasty flavour. The price is higher only if u choose to eat rare seafood like Spider Crab Lobster 1st grade Groupers Big size kerang. U want to eat cheap seafood then u order all small plate for tiger prawn, sotong n vege n if u want to eat fish, order the smaller size fish in tank with lower price, they have it but don’t expect the fish to cost 50 to 60 ringgit per kg laaa... the fish is live la n it’s an ocean fish not river fish...

Dreadful experience. Total spent RM7000 for 3 tables On 4th February 2022, we booked 3 tables for CNY reunion dinner here.

Sad to say, we file 2 complaint to the lady floor manager One of the table served with “hot & sour crab with bun” taste was very off from it taste and was given an explanation for sauce of the flavor itself which we accepted Another table served with ”stir fried crab with salted egg” was a disappointment, where the crab seems more like steamed with separated sauce than stir fry. Moreover the crab taste like chemical. But the floor supervisor lady is a total joke, extremely rude attitude & worst service ever experienced. She said IT IS USUAL FOR “LOCAL CRABS” TO TASTE LIKE CHEMICAL and put all the blame to the “local crab”. Meanwhile saying WE SHOULD APPRECIATE THAT WE GET TO ORDER "LOCAL CRABS" DURING THE PEAK SEASON WHERE THEY RAN LOW ON "LOCAL CRABS", emphasising that they prioritise their customer who are sitting in aircond room than customer sitted at open air area.

Worst, no apology given at all, and giving black look. Does this sounds like an explanation or nonsense for you?

It would be bias if there is only 1 complaint from us, feel free to read through the bad reviews given by other customers and you would found similar complaints. Honestly think that the management of SSS should take the complaint seriously or they will lose more businesses

hopefully no more customer will have to experienced such...

On the 4th February 2022, we booked 3 tables for Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner at Southsea Seafood. The menu itself already caused RM6,180++ unfortunately they served hot and sour crab with bun to one of the table and the flavor of the crab was very off from it taste then we call the service for complaint, the service person said it was the flavor of the sauce and it’s completely fine. Okay. We accept the explanation however on the other table Stir Fried Crab with Salted Egg was a completely surprise to us because the crab doesnt seemed ‘stir Fry’ more so they steamed the crab and cook the sauce separately. This is because the salted egg doesn’t coat to the crab at all. Let’s put aside on the presentation, the freshness crab in this dishes was off as well. For those who reading this comment, if only 1 of us complaint it could be a too prejudice to this restaurant but a total of 24 people having the same issue, the restaurant would need to review on this. Chinese New Year is always busy but we don’t mind waiting forever the dishes. Please don’t give us sub-standard product from your brand. Southsea Seafood, reputation stays with you guys forever. This restaurant serve no pork, please avoid visiting this restaurant during festive season. Money doesn’t matter but we didn’t get fresh seafood which is fine but the service was unfriendly. Think Twice, guys.

This place is absolutely amazing and has quickly become one of my family’s favorite dining spots. The restaurant itself is spacious, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The indoor air-conditioned section can feel a little too cold for my liking, so we usually opt to sit outdoors. The food here is consistently delicious, and every visit has been a satisfying experience. They offer an impressive variety of fresh seafood such as fish, crab, lobster, shellfish, and more. While the prices, particularly for items like fish and prawns, are on the higher side, the freshness and quality absolutely justify the cost. The fish is always served fresh and nicely cooked. The dish that stands out the most to me is their homemade fried tofu topped with crispy vegetables. Honestly, every dish we’ve tried here has been of good standards. The Coconut Pudding dessert was so good, we had to bring one home for family to try. The service is good too. The staff are attentive and professional. Definitely a hidden gem worth going out of your way for. If you’re looking for a gastronomical seafood dining experience, I highly recommend it. My family and I will definitely continue returning!
