The Lighthouse Restaurant at InterContinental Maldives is an absolute must-visit, offering an unforgettable dining experience in a breathtaking setting. The restaurant’s design is both fascinating and unique, with an exterior that allows guests to climb to the top for stunning panoramic views of the island and the turquoise waters. It’s the perfect spot for capturing beautiful photos before your meal. The interior is equally impressive, with meticulous attention to detail and a sophisticated ambiance.
Menu and Culinary Excellence The menu offers a wide range of options, including meat, chicken, seafood, and unique chef’s specialties. The open kitchen and well-thought-out seating arrangement allow diners to watch their meals being prepared with skill and care—a delightful addition to the overall experience.
We dined here twice during our stay, and everything we tried was exceptional. For starters, we ordered the grilled artichoke, Lighthouse salad, and butternut squash ravioli. While all were delicious, the ravioli was slightly heavy. For the main course, the chef kindly accommodated our request for a vegetarian paella (not on the menu), which turned out to be my favorite dish of the entire trip! The lamb rack was also incredibly flavorful and expertly prepared.
The desserts stole the show. The citrus and saffron dessert was outstanding and so good that I ordered it both days. The chocolate fondant was equally delightful, showcasing the chef’s talent in creating perfectly balanced flavors.
Service Excellence The service was impeccable, thanks to professional staff like Mr. Min Soe. He took excellent care of us, ensuring every detail was attended to with a welcoming smile and a wealth of knowledge. His professionalism and warmth elevated our experience.
Tips for Dining If you wish to sit outside and enjoy the open-air ambiance, I recommend arriving between 7:00 and 7:30 PM.

Read moreThe restaurant itself is beautiful. Most of the food is fantastic. We really loved the meat dishes. The lamb and the short ribs are superb. However, they advertise a fine dining restaurant, and this is not the case. They say there is a dress code, but they let people show up wearing absolutely anything, even gym shorts and d bathing suits. The biggest problem we had at the restaurant is when we were seated indoors. There were families with children inside the restaurant who were playing their iPads with the sound at full volume. It’s already very loud inside the restaurant and this made it 100 times worse. You would think that the staff would tell them not to use iPads with the sound on, but they don’t. I don’t mind kids, we have one ourselves, but we would never let him use his iPad on full volume in a nice restaurant like that. My other complaint is with the pasta. It was really quite disappointing There were far too many nuts on the pasta dish. They completely overwhelmed the entire dish. These are the reasons I have to take away a couple stars. If they run the place more like a fine dining restaurant instead of letting the guests do whatever they want. It would probably...
