We got an extra Holliday to Thailand while on vacation in the Maledives by dining at Benjarong.

There’s so much to say, this review will have 3 parts: The food, The People, The Atmospere

The Food: To die for. Simply put, the best parts of Thailand served on a plate for you to enjoy. Whether for lunch or diner, the extensive menu featured all the flavors you’d expect, and the ones you wouldn’t. From delicious curries and Pad Thai, to melt in your mouth chicken Gai Satay, to the most elaborate woks. Be sure to try the Cashew Chiken with fried rice. The chef carefully blends the high quality local ingredients with the best of th Thai Cuisine. The desert? Skip everything and get a taste of heartful and soulful mango sticky rice. Warm, chewy and gooey, with the most ripe mango. As if we were transported back to Bangkok.

The people:

There’s not enough good things that can be said about Obbs and the team he runs. From the warm smile and heartfelt jokes of Prang at the entry, to the impeccable service of Pande, Win and Obbs himself. The personal touch, the stories and the welcome made us feel as if we traveled back to Thailand and made new friends. Honorary shoutout to Nok who was great and we met in the final days of our stay. Visiting the team was always a highlight of our day.

The atmosphere:

The smell or wok, the ambience of the restaurant, and if you’re lucky in the evening you may just see some baby sharks swimming around.

All in all 12/10, we were here every day, both got lunch and dinner.

Must try: To the moon and back, lady fingers, fried camalari, Gai Satay, chicken egg fried rice, chicken cashew and mango...

We were craving some really good Asian food, and Banjarong impressed us!

Service Staff (Orbs) was super friendly and helpful. Gave good recommendations on the Appetiser and tailor made the dishes like Tom Yum Soup when we wanted less spicy.

Was magical also having our meal under the stars and moon. Definitely set the mood for the evening!

This place was voted best Thai food in Maldives and definitely is! Will...
