When writing these reviews i always try to be objective and constructive making this review difficult. The first thing that hits you when you walk in the door is the decor. It really is fabulous. A wonderful collection of different pieces of indian art in an authentic setting The staff all asian ladies were the kindest most attentive poeople i have ever encountered. Thank you ladies for the wonderful service. Coming from the curry capital of the uk, Glasgow, I am used to many high quality asian restaurants in the city competing for customers which means all have high quality with their own individual twist At Cardamom we started with a sizzling starter platter. It looked great but we found the onion Bhajee overcooked , batter was to hard. Similarly Samosa outer pastry was tough and chewy and filing was very dry. Sauces in general tasted bland and my German friend was very disappointed with his Beef Madras. I tasted it and it was not spicy like madras should be. He likes it so hot that only he can eat it😏 The Mango chicken, dall curry, Nan bread and Poppadums were all excellent Not much wrong here that cannot easily be put right Thank you for a pleasant evening in wonderful ...
Read moreThis was amazing experience. Highly above expectation. The service here is so kind and attentive. When you enter from the street, it really surprises you what a calm atmosphere and well chosen equipment it is. No smell from the kitchen, but some nice sticks decently smelling. So do not be afraid of washing your clothes afterwards, like in other Asian ones. No push to us to choose, change, ask, order. If not eaten, they wrapped for us. And, even when they noticed it was raining outside, they added plastic bag (on top of paper one), so our food is nit damaged. They also asked if we have mean of transport for the rainy evening. Really caring people, without any pretending.
We chose the €70 for two, collection of variety food. All just so good. Also intensity of how hot can be chosen. Quite too much for two, I would say, but we made most of it. Maybe the €55 menu for two next time- can not wait.
5/5 is not enough. No wonder of 4,9 rating...
Read morePlease take this review as constructive criticism and not shallow words without a meaning. The restaurant is one of the prettiest Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. Exceptionally nice and lovely service as well as the restaurant owner with a huge smile. However, the food is a different story. Very nice presentation but the food lacked any flavor. All the chicken used in the dishes seemed to be marinated in the same spices for an extremely short time before being cooked as all the chicken no matter the dish was red. What makes Indian food special is the large amount of vibrant spices used in a dish to make it a literal taste bomb. Sadly, the bomb was missing here. I suggest some additional training for the chef on the rich Indian cuisine as it’s never too late to learn new things in life. Unfortunately the food was a dealbreaker for me and I would never come back which is a pity because everything else...
